She goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and she does everything she can to make the process simple & easy. Just moved into a new build on Sweetbriar Park in Darlington .The sales process was a breeze thanks to the sites representative Callum's expertise and care .The house is beautiful and is built to a high standard inside and out .Lynn the site Manager has been to see us and has quickly arranged to fix the few minor issues that will always arise with a new build.We expected a stressful few weeks after moving in but thanks to the positive attitude of the on site staff and their superb after care we are relaxing in our new house like the Cadburys caramel bunny. I purchased a "premium" property from Gentoo Homes in scholar gardens chapel park, but the experience has been a nightmare. It has been a year since I moved in, and critical issues remain unresolved.DO YOU WANT YOUR NEW HOME FEELING GONE-COME AND BUY HEREWANT TO GET THE LEAST QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP-COME AND BUY HEREMajor defects include:Structural & Exterior: Cracked and chipped brickwork that undermines the house's exterior quality.Internal Workmanship: Terrible paintwork and poorly fitted internal doors—the "attention to detail" promised is nonexistent.Safety & Damage: Ongoing water leaks that have not been professionally addressed.Lack of Accountability: There is absolutely no follow-up. They have ignored my requests for 12 months, seemingly exploiting the community’s trust and the buyer's inexperience.Gentoo Homes is happy to take your money for a high-end property but fails to deliver the quality or service to match. Save your money and avoid this developer.
Literally the worst company I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. Months of delays actually completing on the house that ended up being 9 months later than our original date. Since moving in we’ve been plagued with snags; some of which have been serious in nature and actually dangerous. Our roof had not been installed correctly which only came to light when tiles came off and landed on my car. That could have been a person! No use of the main bathroom for 4 months because of a tiling issue only to be followed by no use of the en suite shower for 5 months because of a leak. 1.5 years in and we still have snags to be resolved. Avoid!
The customer service provided from Michelle is truly unmatched. From the first phone call, to getting our keys, Michelle has made the whole process seamless. As first time buyers this was completely new to us and of course we had many questions, Michelle put us at ease and answered every single one of them without making us feel silly! The house itself is amazing, Tony is absolutely brilliant, also answering any questions we had. The support and warmness from both throughout the journey of buying our first home was second to none. Buying a new build with Gentoo Homes has been an absolute pleasure. Michelle is absolutely amazing, and I can't think of when I've received better customer service fom anyone. The process was as quick and straightforward as it's possible to be buying property, and she made sure I was informed and looked after throughout. Of course as with any new build there are snags, but Michelle and Tony have been brilliant at getting them raised and fixed. The house is beautiful and im particularly happy that the ceiling is higher than a lot of new builds, which really gives a sense of additional space, especially for a tall person like me. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Thank you for all the support you gave us through the process and for helping us all through. We were at the brink of changing our minds because the property didn't tuck all our boxes but for Michelle's help and encouragement. You sold us on the property at Chester Gate. Thanks for everything Michelle you were a star from start to finish and kept us updated all the way.
We had some serious concerns after reading the reviews from previous phases, we also compared other newbuild sites in the area too, but the house, area and location were perfect for us, and the drive into the estate is truly stunning. So, we decided to purchase our new house in Cottier Grange, Kerry on the sales team was excellent and kept us informed and updated at all stages.As we had never purchased a new property before, we decided to engage a surveyor from NES Snagging Services, NES are accredited by the RPSA (Residential Property Surveyors Association). We also did our own due diligence with all the new builds in the area, reading their reviews etc and unsurprisingly all new builds have snags and issues to some degree or another. We moved into our new house in Feb 2024 and were extremely happy with what we had bought.The NES surveyor arrived the next day, we received a very detailed report 24 hours later. The report included 63 defects, which is quiet low for a new house, thankfully nothing serious. We openly discussed the snagging list with Gentoo (Paul & Richard) the site managers, Richard being our main contact person, we discussed what we thought were a priority and other points to be arranged after ordering new parts or items, some off which did take quite some time. But for us, as long as we were kept informed, we could live with that. We also knew there had been drainage problems in certain areas of the estate, (this is probably due to the heavy clay content in the soil on this site) and the side of our garage was no exception, thankfully Gentoo laid a new drainage channel which solved the issue. I have to say Paul and Richard have been brilliant and genuinely showed an interest in getting the issues solved, they always had or made time to discuss the snagging list or even any new items that had popped up over the past months. We love the house and estate, it’s beautiful.
We have been living in a brand new Gentoo home at Sweetbriar Park, West Park Darlington for nearly two months. From the start of the process which involved Adele in the sales office to moving in day, meeting Lynn, the site manager and her team, the whole process has been totally seamless.We couldn’t be happier with the service that both Adele and Lynn have provided us with. The build quality of the house is to a high standard with good quality appliances. The driveway that provides off street parking for 3 cars is very useful. Any minor snagging items that we have come across since moving in have been dealt with extremely quickly by Lynn and her team. I would highly recommend a Gentoo home to anyone.
