This is not the first occasion that the residents on the other side of our crescent have been disregarded. We are compelled to use this oversized bin, and when we voice our concerns, they suggest a smaller option, but it occupies the same space in our limited garage. Reaching out to the support team is very challenging, and it feels like our issues are not taken seriously. I was informed by the previous provider that they lost the contract to the current service due to a lower bid, leaving us with this service. Seniors like myself, in our 80s, are expected to maneuver this large bin—especially when the wheels are stuck—to the driveway, clear away snow and ice to level it, and then return it because someone neglected their duty. Moreover, each week, some garbage or recycling spills onto the street and is left unattended by the drivers. Having spent 60 years in customer service, I can confidently say this is not an acceptable way to treat customers.
This isn't the first instance where residents on our crescent have been ignored. We have to use this oversized bin, and while they offer a smaller option, it still occupies the same space in our compact garage. Contacting the company is quite challenging, and it feels like our concerns are disregarded. I was told by the previous service provider that the current company underbid them for the contract, leaving us with this service. Seniors like me, in our 80s, are expected to drag this large bin—especially when the wheels are frozen—to the driveway, clear away snow and ice to level it, and then return it because of negligence. Moreover, weekly, some waste or recycling ends up on the street, left by the drivers. Having worked in customer service for 60 years, I can confidently say this is not an acceptable way to treat customers.
I've been struggling with the company's failure to collect my trash on the scheduled weekly basis for more than a year. Upon canceling my service, they still sent me a bill for the next quarter—even though I received no service. They even escalated the bill to a collection agency. In my view, this organization exploits its customers. If you’re considering their service, I recommend avoiding them.
It's amusing that they bombard you with messages about their closures, yet they can’t inform you when they delay or skip trash collection. I just canceled my service today, and they refuse to refund the remaining quarterly payment. Their costs are distributed among customers, and I’m stuck paying for a service I won't use. The customer service is rude and tends to talk over you. Update: I was contacted today and informed they could, after all, stop my service mid-quarter and issue the appropriate refund. "Checks in the mail."
They assert they follow their normal schedule unless access is blocked. However, our neighborhood was completely accessible after the storm, and other waste services managed to pick up, but not the company last Tuesday. They arrived the next day to collect the recycling right on schedule. Access was clearly not the issue, so what’s their explanation?
