Review Time
GL.iNet didn't include a commercial invoice when shipping with FedEx, and puts the responsibility on me.It's the shipper that has the responsibility for paperwork on international packages. They even threaten with charging me for return fees if the package is returned because of their lack of correct paperwork.
I read the review here about the packaging and got a bit scared, i ordered from the eu site (ships from their warehouse in germany apparantly) and had 0 problems. Came with dhl on time. Only had the router for a day but seems to work great (might update this later if anything negative happens). Anyway had no problems with site and shipping
I bought a refurbished router that had some issues with the power adaptor. Support reacted very, very fast and told me to try a different adaptor. I ordered one online and everything worked fine. When I got back to support on how to proceed, they just refunded my newly bought adaptor including even my shipping costs! This was such a pleasant experience. Never expected this great support for a refurbished product. Thanks Zoey!
I bought 3 products from this brand. My early two pocket routers were fine (GL-AR300M and GL-MT300N-V2). Low power, good VPN support.Yet, I returned my last purchase (GL-AX1800 / Flint) to Amazon. The product is mistrepresented as being openWRT. In reality it is using non-free Qualcomm's QCA Software Development Kit (QSDK) on top of a very old end-of-life openwrt 15.05. It is not compatible with true OpenWRT and doesn't benefit from the same security updates.
