They're very friendly, they came the next day, but the issue is they charged £150 for literally nothing, "oh you need new parts" but give me a link so I can buy their over priced appliances rather than offering to get the parts, they also purposely remove their live chat support buttons so you cant contact them.

I would avoid, or just buy a new appliance

The appointment system is easy enough to do, i was surprised at 1st that I had to pay upfront, but the call handler was very good at explaining its a one off fee and they'll fix it ,they have parts on board and the only extra costs will be speciality parts
The engineer arrived promptly and I was given updates before he arrived, on his whereabouts.
After he left we thought it was fixed, but wasn't and I was able to call him back out at no extra charge. Turns out the oven has lived its life and its time for a new one, but all in all I would recommend go assist, very good company!

A waist of money! Paid 149 upfront for an engineer to come and spend 5 mins looking at the inside of our fridge and tell us that three parts are needed! To only get an email saying that the fridge is beyond their repair?? So why lie about the three parts that need to be ordered then turn around to send an email saying you can’t fix. Don’t waist your time, it’s a scam and there are companies that will do a call out call for cheaper! Charging people that much in this cost of living to just come and barely investigate isn’t right.

This is the first time I ever felt defrauded. Contacted to come fix my washing machine and they told me that they would fix everything on-site (paid about £112). I asked about parts and they say "most times, parts won't be needed". They sent one rude engineer who took a short time to assess the issues and said we needed to get some part (about £113). After about 8-10days, the engineer came again, spent fewer minutes and said they fixed the parts and it isn't working. Next, I now have to pay about £158 to get another part. I asked them, how much is a new machine that I have to pay nearly £400 to fix an old machine. I have already spent £225 without result and there is absolutely no guarantee that it would work after I pay for the new part. I feel sucked in and ripped off. If I was told the full cost of repair and parts from beginning, I wouldn't have paid for the initial parts. I felt to his it to get me committed. Classic fraudulent behaviour. I called the CC and the agent kept repeating script. I just wasted money on a service I never received successfully. Thank you so much "go defraud". May God reward you with fraud. Psm 18.

Very poor service from start to finish. The engineer did not attend the first scheduled visit and made no attempt to contact me in advance. I had to chase him, only to be told he was “in the area” but couldn’t find my clearly marked address.

I then spent almost 40 minutes on the phone to GoAssist, with no apology, and was told the job couldn’t be rebooked until the engineer updated his system. The appointment was eventually rescheduled nearly two weeks later.

The same engineer attended the second visit, again without contacting me beforehand. The repair was carried out but has already failed, so the issue has returned.

Would not use again and would not recommend.

GoAssist is nothing short of a scam. Please do not use them for repairs.

Firstly, they present themselves as a small local company with a local phone number, but are clearly a large call-centre operation based nowhere near where I live (I could hear a bunch of agents on other calls). So from the get-go they are misleading and aiming for people searching for a local handyman.

Second - the main issue - I asked for a one-time repair only and explicitly declined their membership on the phone. But I was signed up anyway and began receiving emails about ‘my membership’. So I called them again (waiting 20 mins on hold) and asked them to cancel it - at this point I gave them the benefit of doubt and assumed they’d signed me up as an admin error or something. I was reassured that my membership had been cancelled on her end. Great.

Then I receive an email asking me to confirm cancellation via an online form that forces you to select dumb options like ‘no thanks I hate saving money’ over and over again until you’re lead to…an error page.

So I contact them AGAIN clearly stating that I do not want a membership. Since then, GoAssist has stopped responding entirely (quelle surprise) yet I’m still receiving emails about ‘my membership’.

This intentional and carefully designed process by GoAssist is to be a spider’s web, trapping customers in their system and just waiting for them to tire themselves out, it seems.

Thirdly (and only now getting to the actual repair): they changed my appointment without telling me. I was told I was booked in for Thursday, which came and went. When I called (again, after a long wait), I was simply told that no one was working in my area that day. Okay, great?

The only positive was the eventual repairman himself, who was polite and helpful - a quick thanks to him and him alone. If it were possible to book him direct and not deal with this company, it’d be a different review.

I don’t say this lightly, but genuinely do stay away from this company. They are not local (despite pretending to be), they don’t listen to what customers ask for, and they will sign you up for a membership you did not agree to, then make cancelling it as painful as possible (maybe impossible, who knows, I’m still trying).

Just look at the other reviews. GoAssist, cancel my membership.

Warning: Avoid This Service!

Edited response to their ridiculous reply. THEY ALTERED the date to one we could not accommodate. Changing it to the following day gave us NO TIME to provide 24 hours' notice. This feels like a scam. It's clear I'm not the only one affected by this. PLEASE CHECK OUT THE REVIEWS ELSEWHERE!!! If I can prevent ONE person from falling victim to this scam, then I've helped someone save £99. STAY AWAY!!!! Just look at the reviews to see that they are dishonest. They will change your service date without notice and give you less than 24 hours to respond. When you call to cancel, they refuse to return your deposit. We are genuinely contacting consumer protection and will seek to reclaim through the bank due to this scam. I spoke to a representative, and when he said there was no chance of getting my money back, I suggested he might as well still send the technician. He promised to sort it out, but it was just more deceit. These individuals are DISHONEST. Don't just take my word for it; check the reviews for yourself.
