I chose my policy with AA Warranty in good faith

I chose my policy with AA Warranty in good faith that my car would be covered for the breakdown of my vehicle. When covering my car, I handed over all the information required by your company about my vehicle including mileage, age of the car etc.Their policy states and I quote ‘This protection will suit the demands and needs of an individual who owns a motor vehicle and wishes to insure against the costs of unforeseen mechanical and electrical failure.’ My vehicle suffered a mechanical breakdown which, going by your written confirmation in my policy statement. The Policy also state that it covers repair costs including labour charges, parts and VAT. Reasonable diagnostic charges where the breakdown is covered in this policy. Contributes towards out of pocket expenses.I had been sent from pillar to post to several different garages incurring multiple charges from different places. The insurance that I took out should have covered this. What was the point in me taking out the insurance if I still must pay for fixing it myself? There is no logic in that. I feel that AA Warranty has scammed me.AA Warranty suggested that I go to two different garages, and both garages requested that it should go to a main dealer. I informed AA Warranty, and was told that they would pay £48 per hour maximum for the diagnostics. I am yet to see this payment. The diagnostic payment was £199.50 which I have paid. Now I have the diagnostics, AA Warranty suggested that I take it to another garage which I chose myself. Their diagnostics was the same as the manufacturers. I contacted AA Warranty, who asked for the garage to phone them with their diagnostics. The garage has informed me that AA will not cover any repairs, as they feel it is wear and tear due to high mileage. If high mileage was in actual fact an issue, then why was this policy offered to me when this information was given at the start? All they were interested in doing is taking my money, on the hope that I would not claim. They had no intention of paying a dime towards any costs or issues that I might incur in the future. Understandably I am deeply exasperated. I have a wife and a small child and have been without my car for a month. This company is taking advantage of valuable families and this is not acceptable. I ended up paying £750, plus the £199.50 earlier stated. This is an outrage! I will be taking the matter further.

I have never been a fan of aftermarket warranties, but after purchasing a 4 year old car for cash, rather than having a loan for a newer vehicle, I decided to take the salesman's offer and pay for the AA warranty. 7 months in and my 508 developes a brake fault, rendering Abs, hand brake and anti roll back useless. I was directed to Halfords for diagnostic and repair, unfortunately it was beyond their capabilities, and I was forced to take the car to the main dealer, who diagnosed the fault of an ECU, and repaired it at a cost of almost £760, to cut a very long story short, AA warranty paid my claim of £640.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND AA WARRANTY!!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND AA WARRANTY!!I went through AA warranty which was offered to me by car giant and they reassured me that they will cover anything and everything. I called AA warranty for the first time with my issue which was a oil leak. They recommended a garage which was 40 minutes away from me so that was not convenient. They took 2 months and 3 investigations to determine the issue which i clearly told them what was the issues and where to look. But I knew they were taking there time to find a fault which they could get out of. At the end they determined it was a pipe connected to the engine which made the whole engine break. The pipe they said is not included in the warranty but I checked the warranty and it covers all engine issues so really and truly they should have fixed it.And that's not the end of it they then left me with a bill of £772 with the garage. My bill to fix my car came up to £9,500 more or less. My situation was I was driving normally when I received a notification on my dashboard saying next time I fuel up to top up oil and that was the first notification I had of that. And then within 1 minute the car broke down on a dual carriageway with steam coming from the engine and oil leaking from the bottom. My point when I spoke with AA Warranty was there was an oil leak and clearly an electrical fault. They kept asking for documents and receipts which I provided on demand and the amount of times they said they will call me and NEVER DID. I had to call almost everyday of the 2 months to get an update and the amount of times they told me "you will have a decision by this date or that date"I regret buying AA Warranty it is a waste of money, time and its unnecessary stress. I wish i read these reviews before purchasing but I was rather persuaded by car giant sales representatives as they reassured me AA Warranty would cover almost everything. I blame CAR GIANT as well as AA WARRANTY.PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE. ITS NOT WORTH THE STRESS, HEADACHE AND MONEY.

Frustrating experience

Frustrating experience. Avoid at all costs.Had a breakdown this morning. AA technician diagnosed the fault as a faulty accelerator pedal sensor. Spoke to the AA warranty team, they nominated 3 garages. Halfords said the AA have a habit of not authorising legitimate repair and will place faults down to wear and tear. So they have a diagnostic fee of £60 per hour, and in the event the claim.is declined I would need to pay.The other 2 garages nominated by the AA went in to great detail about the warranties being with 2 separate company's (not the AA), not being worth the paper they written on and that there would be a charge.. which in turn could be more then the cost of repair.I rang 2 different Vauxhall dealers whom said they don't want anything to do with the AA.I rang the AA. I told them when I was sold the cover I was informed over the phone of no additional charges. They explained there technicians don't have specialist equipment, even though I was informed they do. I was basically told to get lost. When the garages the AA nominate for repair warn you about the AA poor service .. U know you've wasted your money.
