Review Time
So today first time I try the Gokyuzu in Finchley. Ambiance was nice, restaraunt was nice and clean. Waiting staff were a little slow. Now for most important. Food was nice but I could not even take one bite of starters bread and dip also salad and they bring the main. So I eat the starter and the main becomes cold. Ok but taste of mains was nice cooked well and good portion size. Salad was good also. Bread was cold must be hot places I eat before Turkish they serve fresh warm bread. Now at the end of meal I was also given service charge not common in Turkish restaurant around north London so meal for one person become expensive. For two people with drink easy £40-50 and higher service charge.
Rude and ignorant staff, they bring out random bits of food at odd times. E.g. salad as soon as we sat down, then humus but no bread...few mins later French fries and no mains. When the mains actually did arrive, the chicken was uncooked. It looked like it had been warmed up in a microwave. Serving staff, when called over simply walk in the opposite direction and then say they didn’t hear or see you, when they were looking at you at the time! This was the second time we went to this place and I can honestly say there are far better Turkish restaurants with attentive service and much tastier food closer by. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
Was playing the mini golf when i noticed how busy the restaurant was so we decided to go in. Was really happy - nice clean, spacious environment. It was very busy so i can understand that the staff were not as attentive as i would have liked. The food was great and the bill not too bad - very happy would certainly recommend.

I can except slow service if a restaurant is busy but rudeness from management and staff is just not excepterbal.For the duration of or visit we had every slow service but we understood and excepted this as it was Farthers day. However staff were not polite and as it was a very hot day 31 Celsius, we requested a jug of ice water for the table and the request was denied! There answer was you can only have it by the glass. We asked for the glasses of water plus we requested a 2nd round of drinks from the menu. You just got this feeling before the food arrived that if it was going to be any thing like the drinks order, then it wouldn't be great. Unfortunately our fears came true. 7 meals ordered only 4 were edible. The 3 that didn't eat or even touch there food due to the food being under cooked, chicken full of fat skin and gristle just left there dinner. Our views were just to leave. Staff were not interested. We asked for the bill £150.00 I gave them a card for payment, the manager took the card payment and he didn't even say thank you for the payment or was there any problems.If the management like this then you can see why staff show no interest.
It was a bit of a travel for us and it s not usual area we would go out, but definitely worth to travel that part of the city. Absolutely delicious... EVERYTHING, great atmosphere and lovely interior. The only reason it is not 5* is service. Which will depend on a waiter, some of them are very quick and lovely and helpful. Some of them might ignore you for ages. That doesn't spoil the food though, unless you are in rush. Recommend to go, but probably on one of nor very busy night in the middle of the week.
