Went as a family of 8 at 9pm on Monday which was a bank holiday. Asked for a seat upstairs but they said it was closed and we had to sit downstairs. Not my preferred choice but did not make a big deal out of it. We sat down and were waiting for 10mins but no one handed us menus so we could order. These should have been given to us when we sat down as this is the norm. I then walked upto a member of staff and asked for the menus. His response was “ Why are you so angry?” I said to him that I was not angry but annoyed that we had not been given the menus as yet. We then got served the complimentary bread and salad and soon after the same waiter came to take our order. I asked for Adana Kabeb and was told that they don’t have this anymore. They also said that they don’t have Chicken Shish which is what we wanted and is the most popular type type of food in Turkish restaurant. I asked the waiter why he did not mention what was not available at the time of offering us the seat and before we got comfortable. His response was he did not know what we are going to order. I said to him regardless he should have said something like “ just so that you know we have ran out Adana and Chicken in case you were wanting to order” it’s just the norm and good customer service. I then got up and asked to speak to the manager but the other person felt that he needed to know so I told him. He kind of was understanding my point but then this big guy with a ponytail came out. He looked a bit like Steven Seagal from the film Underseige and he said what happened in a very rude way. I said I am not going to explain my bad experience the 3rd time. He asked the other guy who I went to ask for the manager whether we ordered or not and he said no. Steven Seagal then said so what is the issue then. No apology no nothing. I am a regular in the restaurant and have told many people including all my family and friends and work colleagues about how good the food is but I will never go there ever again simply because the staff were rude and arrogant and don’t know how to provide customer service. Without customers like us they would not have jobs in that restaurant and they should respect customers not treat them rudely. In a place like London where there is a lot of competition you have to be top of your game. Disgusted!!!

I’m honestly really disappointed writing this because I used to be a regular here, but after today I won’t be returning. We came to Finchley Gokyuzo for Eid, fully understanding that it would be busy and hectic. We waited around an hour for our food, which is already a long time, but we were willing to be patient given the occasion. However, if the wait is that long, you at least expect the food to be worth it — unfortunately, it wasn’t.We ordered the jumbo platter, and not only were some items missing that were listed on the menu, but the majority of the meat was undercooked/raw and completely inedible. We barely touched it and ended up sending it back almost full. When we raised this with staff, we expected at least some acknowledgment or a reduction in the bill considering we didn’t actually eat the food. Instead, nothing was done. The waiter said he would get the manager, but no one ever came. He then proceeded to take full payment without resolving anything. We complained again, but we were repeatedly ignored until we felt forced to just leave. In the end, we had to go to another restaurant because we were still hungry and completely unsatisfied.I want to be fair — I understand it was Eid, and I know how overwhelming it can be for staff and the kitchen during busy periods. But the solution is simple: don’t take on more customers than you can properly serve. If you can’t deliver the standard people are paying for, you shouldn’t be seating them in the first place. It’s a real shame because I’ve been a regular and used to enjoy coming here, but after this experience, I won’t be returning and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
Food was tasty and cooked well. The lamb could have been a little more tender but overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Great service from Zilan🙂She was friendly, accommodating & efficient. Buzzing atmosphere (several birthday celebrations) so don't expect a quiet evening😉
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff greeted us warmly at the restaurant. However, the food was quite bland, and I expected the staff to be friendlier and more attentive. Additionally, the prices are very high, with a meal for three costing around 100 pounds. On a positive note, there's ample parking and a nice ambience. I enjoyed my time there, but the staff and management were unhelpful, and the manager seemed unaware of customer satisfaction. To sum up, the food is extremely pricey, which is why I probably won't return. Thank you.
The chicken shish and the chicken doner is probably the best food I have eaten, the chicken has just the right amount of oil, the flavours are amazing and the rice is good, the bread is soft and tasty, everything is good however its a little pricey as it costed me and my family almost over £100 to get three chicken shish and one chicken doner. Overall they have some great food and I don't understand what the hate is for as the staff were great when i went.
Finchley branch has very rude staff. They work there for long time and we are old and regular customers. They think they own the restaurant now. The guy who is bold, he was very rude. It was my mum’s birthday and they ruined our night. They served us more food ending up with charging us more. I have never seen these kind of waiter’s behaviour anywhere.
Celebrating anniversary with my husband last night absolutely ruined by our waiter. He was rude, non attentive and borderline sad. Asked to switch chips with rice, the way he tosses that they don’t do that there was unacceptable. We were fine to order it on a side we were just asking. Rude and arrogant, never smiling so we ended spending the evening talking about him instead of enjoying our company. We didn’t leave tip as we were obviously not happy and he checked if there was tip, saw there wasn’t and didn’t bother saying goodbye.
When we went into the restaurant we had to wait half an hour for a table downstairs because we had a family member who couldn't walk upstairs to our table, then they gave us our table, and it was very cold, the heaters weren't working, the staff were very rude, no manners, they kept pressing buttons for the windows by accident, this caused me to get a blocked nose, they kept getting orders mixed up, it's not good enough having to wait half an hour for a table, especially if I can't stand for too long. NEVER COME TO THE ONE IN FINCHLEY!
