The food was average and the staff and service was absolutely abhorrent!!Once the staff finally acknowledged us waiting to be shown to a table (that we had booked the day before), we had to wait 15 minutes before they took our order. We wouldn't have minded the wait, but the food was bland! Then to top it off, we had to wait a further 15 minutes once we had requested our bill. The bill was brought over to us, and yes you guessed it, we were ignored. After waiting a further 12 minutes we went up to pay the bill and there was no thank you from the staff, no mints nothing. Miserable, unprofessional staff. Definitely, will not be going to this crap hole again.
Gokyuzu Restaurant in Chingford E4, provided a delightful dining experience with its exquisite food and inviting ambiance. The evening began with a warm welcome, setting the tone for a pleasant night. The menu boasted a diverse selection of dishes, each a culinary masterpiece. The flavours were a symphony of taste, showcasing the chef's skill in combining fresh ingredients. From the appetizers to the main course, every dish was a journey through Turkish cuisine, leaving a lasting impression on the palate. The presentation was equally impressive, adding an aesthetic touch to the overall experience. The restaurant's ambiance contributed to the charm of the evening. Soft lighting, tasteful decor, and comfortable seating created an intimate and cozy atmosphere. The staff's attentive service further enhanced the overall dining pleasure, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable evening.Gokyuzu Restaurant in Chingford provided the ideal setting for a lovely, food-filled evening. Highly recommended for those seeking a combination of exceptional cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere.
I visited Gokyuzu last night to celebrate my wife's birthday, hoping for a memorable evening. Sadly, it turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons. Right from the onset, there was an evident lack of warmth as we were met with no greetings, and the staff had grim faces with not a single smile in sight. This cold atmosphere was only the beginning. While the food was passable, the prices were exorbitant, with both the dishes and drinks being exceptionally expensive and not justifying their value. The service, however, was where the real issues lay. Our waiter seemed disinterested and frequently overlooked our table. This was especially evident when it came time to request our bill; the waiter simply dropped it off without offering any directions on the payment method, leaving us to flag down another staff member to proceed with the card payment. The overall inattention and seeming indifference from the staff marred our special occasion. The experience cast a shadow over our celebrations.Given the high costs, the lack of warmth, and subpar service, I would strongly advise potential diners to think twice before choosing this establishment, whether for special occasions or a regular meal.
We live near Brighton, but we regularly travel to Woodford and always call in at Gokyuzu for a meal as we love their food. However, over the past few visits our opinion of this restaurant has drastically gone downhill. The staff are like something out of a Faulty Towers series. It's as if they want to show you how rude they can be. Today we were dripped on from a leaking roof and we were not able to move to another table, so I had to wear my waterproof jacket and place as many napkins on the table as we could find. Then I found a large sharp piece of bone shard in my lamb which was a very unpleasant experience. We told one of the servers and he had absolutely no response whatsoever. Eventually we showed it to another server who just took it away. Unbelievable! The same thing happened on a previous visit when they served me raw chicken with my cooked lamb. The staff are completely unresponsive. We paid the bill in full, but probably shouldn't have paid the service charge.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I am thrilled to leave a 5-star review for Gokyuzu Finchley. Finding a clean restaurant in London can be challenging, but this place is simply the best. It is impeccably clean, offers delicious food, and generous portions. While the overall staff may not always be the friendliest, there is one particular gentleman who consistently greets me and my child with warmth and kindness. His exceptional customer service adds to the enjoyable dining experience. Some comments have been made about the prices, but I find that the quality of the food matches its value. Gokyuzu Finchley strikes a perfect balance of providing high-quality meals at affordable prices.I genuinely love this place and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a clean, delicious, and reasonably priced dining experience.
Just want too expensive. A friend and I went for a meal while the food was nice, the price was astronomical! A starter, a main and two non alcoholic drinks came to £80! This is more expensive than a similar restaurant in Dubai or Monaco. Prices appear to go up every few months since the pandemic and it’s simply too much to justify paying this insane amount for a simple meal in a common noisy busy packed restaurant.
First time at the Chingford branch. Lots of parking space. We booked a table for 11 people this afternoon. Was surprised how big it is. The service was good. The food was delicious, big portion & value for money. We did not have much contact with the staff. We also did not have to wait too long for starters to be delivered to our table. We all agreed that we would go to this restaurant again.
Dishonest and argumentative staff. Ordered a chicken dish, was served lamb. When I notified the waiter he argued with me and tried to convince me that it was chicken. I asked him to redo the dish and they served me lamb again, at which point I just gave up and shared my wife's food. The attitude towards customers here is hilariously bad.
Went for dinner on a Sunday evening after booking a table online and upon entering the restaurant- no greetings, hello or acknowledgement that a small group of customers arrived. It's like we are invisible. Had to approach the staff to find our booked table and learned that we could sit anywhere as there were a number of empty tables around. One of the servers reluctantly came to our table with the menu and felt that either server had a long day or doesn't want to serve us. Fine- please find another job if you don't like to serve customers, I fully understand that but you're representing the restaurant and the manager on duty doesn't seems to be paying attention either. Nobody likes to feel unwelcome in a restaurant which also made the average food way less enjoyable. As a customer, we don't only pay for the food but also for the service we receive. Would I like to be somewhere where the service is poor, the food is average and the staff attitude is dull and expects us to pay a tip?No, thanks. Would not visit again or recommend friends/families.
