GreenCompetitions closed down. - 25 Jan 2025 email - but all would receive refunds for their entry purchases
Received email (6 Feb 2026) advising not all refunds for entries had succeeded in being refunded automatically, therefore I should send them bank details.
Suspecting all abit dubious at this stage, I emailed them my revolut details just in case as it contained no funds (having originally purchased tickets from them using my Credit card).
Actually received a response on the 6 Feb advising they dont have Revolut, so I ended up sending my bank details after all. 🤔
But now it's one month later and still no refund & no response to my follow up email weekly intervals to them. 😠
Hmm, must be tempting to rather keep the remaining cashpot for entries and knowing likely banks wont bother chasing them as the amount per individual is too low for likes of a chargeback. (A hole in the system and its been exploited therefore).
My Credit Card company has refunded me themselves.
😠😠
These guys were raffling domestic power banks, solar panels for your home, a new Renault 5 electric, a great idea on paper, they switched their approach from no close date to 31st January 26 and guaranteed draw regardless of ticket sales, a week before the draw date, despite heavy advertising via meta - they shut down all social media channels, put a holding page up on website and pulled the business. I have now received a refund, and an email from the Director stating 'Green Competitions is now closed due to circumstances outside my control'But in their T's and C's it did say guaranteed draw regardless of ticket sales. the company is still listed as trading on companies house.
I asked a simple question on their Facebook page what the minimum number of entries were for the car to be given away and I was blocked and my question deleted. I saw other people ask similar questions and all such comments get deleted. I assume with the current number of entries the car is very unlikely to be given away based on their T&C's. Why won't they be open about the number of required entries?I fully intended buying tickets for this competition, I am not a troll. I spend hundreds entering car competitions but always want to understand if the prize is really going to be given away and there is no clear answer here. T&C's:If a competition does not reach the minimum number of entries required to award the prize, West Spark Media Ltd may:Extend the competition period, orOffer a cash prize equal to 70% of total ticket sales, orRefund all entries.

As others have said, took money for a competition and then disappeared before the draw took place. Unlike others though, I've not received a refund. Update: Requested a refund through Paypal and got it the same day. So maybe not a scam after all, just a poorly run competition
