Do not buy beer from their website online and expect it to be delivered on time. Placed an order and after 3 days chased it up. It was out of stock and would be at least another 4 days until delivery. No real empathy from the person on the phone. Order cancelled, refunded. Nevfer again.
I enjoy a lovely pint Greene King ale, particularly Abbott ale. Therefore, I usually go to pub/ restaurants that serve this ale. Today I went to the Wrekin Giant in Telford ( part of the Greene King hungry horse chain). Despite having hand pumps on the bar, I was surprised to find out that yhe Greene King ales have been with drawn from sale. Why are Greene King not selling their signature beers in their pubs?
I was in Scunthorpe visiting my family who told me to try the royal pub.I was amazed by the welcome I will definitely be returning.The food was lovely and the drinks where reasonable priced.A big thanks to Zane the manager and the team a brilliant night.
Yesterday evening, we had the mis-pleasure of visiting The Dunvant in Swansea. If I could give 0 stars I would!We ordered 2 meals, one came 20 minutes after the other, by which time my wife had finished!We added pulled pork to both meals at a cost of £1 and £2 not sure how they think the amount of actual pulled pork justified the cost. I had 2 lumps of fatty meat for my extra £1 on my burger.When placing the order,I asked the barman if the burger had cheese, he said it did not. Guess what? It had cheese on it, this then caused an even longer delay.We were not given any cutlery or serviettes like all other table outside were given.I did notice the table of 4 opposite us had 2 meals 10 minutes after the first 2 meals, terrible when you want to eat together as a family.I will never visit this place again! Far better places nearby who would probably provide better service and value for money.
So we have eaten here a few times and generally speaking it's been ok and then we turned up tonight and got to say it was the most disappointing evening of food and service we have ever had at this place I'm sad to say. The manager was abysmal,she didn't do anything and didn't talk to us and the only time she was behind the bar was to get herself a drink then sat back down and was on Snapchat for most of the time. When we asked her if she was the duty manager she said she wasn't working the evening even tho she was telling other staff what to do and getting herself drinks from the bar which means she just didn't want to deal with the complaints of us due to the bad service and bad food.When the food came out the burger my Mrs had was under cooked,the gravy our lad had was absolutely disgusting and the onion rings I had were laughable and had about 10 chips which considering it was nearly £20 for this meal was very disappointing.Other people from our party had bad food but I know they putting in complaints and reviews themselves so will leave that to them. When waited for ages to get served for drinks at the bar even tho 2 staff were sat by the bar and basically ignored us one of them being the manager that apparently wasn't working but still telling others what to do. When we 1st turned up at 6.30pm (time we booked for) no tables had been sorted for us or sorted out and the pre order they had asked for couldn't be given as no one answered the phone for the entire day so all the food was rushed out and it was blatantly obvious. We got 4 meals to the table and the other 9 of us waited 45mins for our food by which time the other 4 had finished unsurprisingly. Apart from 2 of the staff who were running around doing everything (by order of the manager who wasn't working) no one else did bugger all. Having worked in hospitality my entire working life as a chef I would be disgusted if I worked somewhere with this disregard and attitude to customer service and treatment of us and for the money we paid for this can say after years of using this venue I really do doubt I will use them again. So very sad to see how these people treat the very people paying their wages. Green King you need to look at this place and their management very closely as it was and complete disgrace!!!
I’ve been drinking and eating in my local Greene king pub The Old Red Lion in Shephall Stevenage since I moved to the town in 2003 always been a great pub staff are amazing but!!!! You have recently changed beers removing Stella which I have drunk for the last 25 years you have decided to discontinue the Stella at £4.50 and replace with a horrible beer Madris and put the price up to £5.50 there was no need to stop Stella as it is and always has been popular beer in this pub and was always running out so now you can’t even get two pints for less than £10 and on the food you’ve made the steaks an ounce smaller and had the cheek to put the price up unbelievable!!! Not even a customer survey to see what the customers want, I used to spend a good few hundred pounds in there on a weekend. It’s a real shame because it’s a great pub but unfortunately I won’t be going back. Well done Greene King. P.S the making good on the repairs to leaks in the ceiling are atrocious and look dangerous. Spend the money Greene King you’re obviously earning with outrageous prices of the crap beer.
Offer free child meals from 25th July when app is downloaded but don't bother to tell you that you have a 3 day wait to activate...we endended up paying for the 6 children in our large family gathering...Will avoid greene king pubs for all future functions which we do on a monthly basis absolutely no customer service
