Waited ages to be seated, there were people queuing out the door but staff seemed oblivious. Stated we were there for the carvery but wearnt told we needed tickets.Had another long queue for drinks as only 1 person on the Bar and then told after a long queue for carvery that we needed tickets from the bar. Waited in another queue for those. The large portions were not large and this was probably because they had one young lad trying to carve three different meats (badly) for every single customer. A job that a bacon slicer would have done in about 5 seconds. For every slice he kept moving back the skin each time. It was painful to watch as many of us in the queue indicated to each other... Several times. Then finally we got sat down, in the middle of the floor, which felt like being in a corridor. I got bumped into my people twice as I tried to digest my chewy whatever which had no flavour. I would avoid the Gingerbread man in Market Drayton at all cost. A painful experience which I won't be repeating.
Unwelcoming and Discriminatory ServiceI visited the Greene King at Willen Lake today with a group of 9 people, but unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. Three staff members walked past us without serving, leaving us standing there waiting for a long time. When we asked if we could be seated, we were told that they couldn't accommodate us despite the fact that there were many vacant tables in the restaurant. The staff members were not friendly and did not seem interested in serving us. We felt that this was possibly because we are Asian, as they were very friendly with locals but looked down on us and had ugly expressions even though we were polite when asking for a table. This made us feel discriminated against. When we suggested that we could separate into two tables nearby, the staff member told us that we would have to wait at least 4 to 5 minutes for this. They then told us that we could go to other bars nearby if we didn't want to wait, instead of offering any other options or showing any willingness to serve us.Feeling very unwelcome and discriminated against, we decided to leave. To add insult to injury, we noticed that another group of customers who arrived after us were quickly welcomed and seated.Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the unwelcoming and discriminatory service at Greene King at Willen Lake. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant and welcoming dining experience
Went to dyce farm .for my daughters b/day . We had ordered food and drinks .she had drinks on a tray. She had spilled them when got to table .the manager came to clean table .my daughter helped her she was very annoyed. Didn't even ask if we were OK. As glass was smashed . And when we went to till we had to pay for more drinks .which you think we would have got .as it was a accident. And after all we did get food as well as drinks .the manager was called Susan. And was not very helpful. So we won't be back again
We went to the Ring O Bells pub in Rotherham for our evening meal , oh my goodness What a disappointment it was I ordered our meal at the bar and paid and waited half an hour for our meal , only to receive Fish and Chips instead of Scampi , my husbands pie was cold and the gravy so thick and lumpy it wouldn’t pour out ! Having sent the fish back on receipt I then waited another 15 minutes for my scampi Along with the original chips and cold peas !!! Never again will we go to this place , it was a sheer cock up from start to finish and no apologies whatsoever , If you ever go please don’t experience what we did
The service was good. The food; a great pub meal for seniors £5.49 for an appie (I had chicken strips but there were several choices) and a main ( I had the fish and chips with mushy peas). Friendly, personal and authentic English pub. Of course there was a Guinness to accompany it This was really a good meal for a great price. If you are in the area; check it out. All for JP, Amy and thank Mike for good excellent culinary skills.
On Mother’s Day my family visited the sneyd arms Greene king pub in Stoke on Trent we where greeted by member of staff don’t know her name but she was so helpful, took our seats she even recommended some choices off the menu , I ordered drinks first served by Craig (wearing a named Guinness top ) he was the friendliest nicest chap I’ve been served by even walked over to say hello to the family , went here for my birthday and Mother’s Day would highly recommend I’ll be making this place a regular due to the family oriented place it is , 5 star for me ,
After a poor experience previously, The manager, Craig, at the Game Bird near st Helens, invited us back for a meal. It was lovely, not creepy over the top butt kissing, just great food and great service. I would recommend that experience everytime. Thank you
Dropped into Primrose Farm Wigan for lunch. Hadn’t been for a while after a very poor experience but were soon smiling again thanks to Sharon. Food brought out didn’t match order but Sharon to the rescue once again & all was sorted quickly & efficiently. She really is customer focused and so friendly with it.
