Fathers Day

Fathers Day, we were looking forward to going out to the Bull Hotel in Halstead, Essex with our Daughter & partner. We were squashed into a four table space, the chair my husband was going to sit on was with urine because of no existing table service, so changed it ourselves. The food took an age to appear, it was cold, the vegetables we couldn't put a fork in them as so very hard, all in all it was a nightmare. unaided by staff. No sweet was offered we were left abandoned, disgusting. Don't waste your money it sounds good but complete rubbish, what a waste of money, better off at our cafe. At least they serve up decent food.

Change of Menu / Prices up

Always enjoyed going to the 'Malt House' in Whittle le woods, Lancashire. The setting is perfect by a canal, beautiful gardens and very welcoming staff. Inside is stunning with twinkling lights, beams and the food was excellent. Not anymore everything is perfect bar the food. You have changed the menu, took off the meals that sold well and replaced them with extortionate price meals that people don't want. When I asked the waitress what had happened she said it wasn't their choice but ' Green King's '. If it's not broken don't fix it. I know quite alot of people have stopped going due to the menu changing. Feel very sorry for the owners and staff as it's no fault of theirs.

Kitchen & Carvery could not cope with the amount of customers, I left hungry!

Hawthorne Farm, Yeadon. My family and I booked a table for Carvery. On arrival we could see that the restaurant was busy, and it became clear that the kitchen and the Carvery staff were unable to keep up manage the demand. From our table we could see the queue come to a standstill for 15mins as the one member of staff on the Carvery went into the kitchen to retrieve food. The queue for the Carvery increased. At the time of writing 2 members of our party had been queue for 20mins and were nowhere near the middle of the queue. I complained to the manager and requested to swap my Carvery for a kitchen meal, I was told that I would need to wait 45mins. I decided not to eat in the restaurant at all, but my family decided to continue queueing. We absolutely will not be back!

The Ship Inn - Saltburn By The Sea

Taking a famous local inn, badly neglected by past owners - bringing in the right guys - a very clever redesign yet respecting its fame and background. Creating a modern and exciting menu - Then employing the perfect team to run it. And wow you’ve done amazing. It’s called “A winning team that keeps on winning”.

Old and in need of a tidy up.

Came with kids for play area. It is scruffy, in need of a makeover, seats torn, tables old. One assistant trying her best. Table is sticky despite being just wiped down. It's also cold, aircon set too low.Luckily kids too young to notice all this, so 3 stars because thrg are enjoying themselves.
