I set up a date & time to have the equipment installed at service provider, 3505 E Saint Vrain, Colorado Springs, CO. 80909. When I called Guardian Interlock services at their 1-800 number to set my appointment, at no time was I asked about any breathing difficulties, asthma of any kind and/or problems blowing into the device to measure alcohol in my body. I went to my appointment, signed their documents, and had the device installed. I couldn't blow hard and long enough into the device to make it work properly because I do indeed have asthma and COPD. The tech, Patrick, stated I could have my doctor send a letter explaining my condition. While I was there, I called my doctor and he immediately sent over a letter noting my condition. The tech, Patrick, then stated he couldn't use it that there were forms that I needed to have filled out by the dmv etc. I was told that could take 30 days. While frustrating, I still understood and asked him to remove the equipment and that I would get the proper documents. He then told me there would be a $250 charge to take it out. Very frustrated now, I could not see why the charge. I understand shop labor, but it took him 30 minutes to install it and all of 10 minutes to take it out. Seems a bit high, don't you think. The reason I am soooo frustrated and dissatisfied with Guardian, it's service provider and the tech; is that no one ever brought to my attention before the appointment nor at the install, where there any breathing difficulties. I stated to the customer service representative that, that conversation should be had with the customer prior to installation of said equipment into my vehicle. I was told, I should have asked! When I brought up to the service provider, that there should be a mockup of the equipment at the facility to use to make sure there were no problems, i WAS TOLD AGAIN, ":YOU DIDN'T ASK" Had there been any prior conversation about the use of the equipment, I would have already had my documents in order at the time of the install. So pretty much I was told by 3 persons, it was my own fault, I should've asked. Piss poor customer service by Guardian Corporate and even more piss poor service by the installer. Appears that they can do whatever they want and treat the customer however they want because they know that they have you in the strangle hold. I'm a 60-year man, not a kid and I should have not be disrespected they way I was. No suggestions and/or help was provided; just told it was my fault. DON'T USE GUARDIAN, THERE'S MUCH BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE!!!!!!
I was at first more than happy with the service however after being sent to a third party named Perplex Styling in Silt Colorado my impression of Guardian Interlock changed dramatically. This is because that third party installer waited until the install was done then attempted to charge me 200$ and wouldnt honor the agreement i had with Guardian who did nothing to get my truck released and even told me to pay him for credit to my account when the initial set up was contracted as completely free not get extorted by a third party and have your truck stolen when all i wanted to do was comply to the colorado dmv and the unconstitutional administrative orders theyve elected to impose in the name of safety.7
An employee named Carlos was very helpful and patient. I thought my appt was tomorrow but it was yesterday. I was quite upset when my car wouldn’t start , So Carlos talked me through the process and provided me with a code. He scheduled an appointment for me so I went to Easton but the wrong place. I had to call again and Cory, I think was his name got me through quickly . I finally found the new place and the young lady was nice and got my Interlock calibrated and I paid and was all done
The representative who helped me today was incredibly kind. I’ve had a lot of trouble getting in touch with someone at Guardian, but he actually took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. He was the only one who really seemed to care about my situation and helped me work toward a solution. It’s frustrating that the system itself is so difficult to deal with—you spend hours on the phone just trying to reach someone, and too often the experience feels unpleasant. But this representative was different. He was patient, understanding, and genuinely helpful. I believe he deserves recognition for his work, and you should consider hiring more people like him.
