Review Time
I originally purchased a GWC warranty when I bought my 2014 Mercedes C350 4MATIC in January 2017. I purchased the Just Get in and Drive level. I mistakenly assumed that everything was covered. In fact, very little has gone wrong with the car so GWC’s opportunity to prove itself has been limited. Over the years, GWC covered very little of the repairs that had to be done. And, their premium keeps going up. When it was time to renew the warranty I found a plan that offered significantly more coverage at less than half the cost.
I'm always hesitant when it comes to reviewing a warranty company before I use them.
This past week, I put a claim considering what I heard from the shop after taking my car in.
Amanda Myer was my connection at GWC and she advocated in such a way that made me felt heard and valued.
This is a reminder that there is a disticntion between the letter and the spirit of the contract language. Amanda did an amazing job in understanding that distinction and advocating for her client. I recommend 100%.

On 20 January 2026, I took my Cadillac Escalade to the auto repair shop. I purchased the Essential extended warranty package. The diagnostic failure root cause was the Air Conditioning R & R, Gm Genuine parts ,Transmission Oil Cooler line, and the TruGrade A/C Condenser. my plan includes all of these parts are covered. My claim was denied and I had to pay out cost $1400, I initially paid $2,900 for the essential package powertrain, transmission air conditioning parts 120,000 miles etc. The reason GWC adjustor's and their supervisor stated it was a part that was not covered even the my plan included AIR CONDITIONING• Compressor, compressorclutch• Accumulator• Dryer/receiver• Condenser• Evaporator This warranty company will look for ways to deny your claim, the staff is rude over the phone this company is just as bad as the other car extended warranties being advertised on tv. Please stay away from their business otherwise you will will regret it later. Oh they are so bad they wouldn't even provide me a claim number talking about being unprofessional and I had to pay out of pocket for car rental
What GWC has put our family through should be criminal, but their arbitration policies protect them from any sort accountability for their blatant theft. They sent two inspectors to basically deny coverage of a transmission which the mechanics clearly proved was the issue. This added hours to the diagnostic cost which they left us with. After finally complaining enough a third inspector was sent out. This one brought an instrument to evaluate the transmission...I'm not sure why the other two didn't bring one...oh yeah, because they were sent to deny coverage. At this point GWC said we had to update software which costs 250 dollars plus labor. The mechanics in the Toyota shirts said this wouldn't fix the problem, and GWC said they wouldn't cover the transmission if we didn't...so we did. Guess what? It didn't fix the transmission. So GWC said they would actually do what they promised in their warranty. Oh..whoops, no they didn't. They covered what they think a transmission should cost and what they think toyata should charge to install it. 2500 dollar warranty left us without vehicle for almost two months, a lost job because my step daughter couldn't make it to work twice, and almost four thousand dollars out of pocket to install a covered part. Feel free to listen to the recorded calls for quality assurance when Sarah, a manager in claims, said "dealerships can charge whatever the f.... they can charge whatever they want, but this is what we are covering". Almost let that slip. This is a testament to the award winning personalities they have to manage the theft of your money. If this saves one family the thousands of dollars and hardship of paying on a truck you can't drive then I will be greatful.
GWC is a scam extended warranty (service contract) with every possible legal out they can place in the service contract. They have disputed every claim I have had with them (4). All major issues that would cost over 3k to repair. having another one now where the parts they have sent (3) times have leaked and defective. Dont waste your TIME or Money with GWC.
Golden Motors Offroad located in Lexington, SC is one location that sells and honors the GWC warranty. I had to send my truck in for repair due to an injector failing back in June. They "fixed" the repair and got my truck back to me but within a week my truck started showing the same symptoms and the same codes were coming up again. I had it repaired again which was a headache in itself because they recorded the wrong information and was trying to charge me for a new case when they never resolved the issue the first time. After a back and forth with gwc and Golden motors they again repaired my vehicle with some additional fees but I didnt have to pay the deductible again. Again, after about a week the symptoms and codes came back again. Now Golden doesn't even want to look at the truck and wants me to send it to a Chevrolet dealership. The problem with that is that the labor rates at the dealership are different so while they accept gwc's warranty, I will end up paying much more than the deductible. You all should strongly consider cutting ties with Golden Motors. They market and advertise a full service shop which it is not. They are simply buying and reselling cars without making aure the vehicles they are selling are in good enough shape to be on the road. Doing business with Golden Motors has cost me thousands and the relationship you all have with them is a poor reflection on GWC as a whole.
When I took my car to the shop for a covered repair, they informed me that GWC is known to deny claims. Within 24 hours, my claim was denied. The point of purchasing a warranty is for peace of mind, and it is clear that GWC does not provide peace of mind and they will go to great lengths to deny claims.
