Habify installed a new warmer roof on our Victorian conservatory and replaced the porch roof with better insulation and the same matching tapco grey slate tiles. Communication with Hugo/Gary and workmanship from the team throughout was superb, with works being completed from start to finish in just 6 days. The conservatory roof has made a huge difference in terms of warmth/homely feel and I would 100% recommend Habify to anybody looking for a warmer roof conversion.
The time had come to replace our polycarbonate conservatory roof with a fully insulated Warm Roof, a friend who had undertaken a similar job recommended Habify for the quality of their workmanship so we invited them to quote. Their surveyor undertook a thorough site survey and made a number of recommendations (some of which reduced the financial outlay !). The quote was at the level we anticipated so we signed the paperwork. A technical survey was undertaken in early January 2025 with installation set for the end of the month. The installation team completed their work to a very high standard and were clearly proud of the quality and standards they set; we could not have been more impressed by their attitude, workmanship and friendly approach. The plasterers were also of the highest standard, they were meticulous in their set up to ensure the minimum of mess and gave us advice on drying times, painting process etc. The electrician also worked in with the team and after the rest had finished he completed the installation of lighting and the wiring into the main electrics; previously there were no main lights in the conservatory. He also ensured that the lights were set at the right lighting style for our requirements as they had four different settings. We were extremely impressed by the whole process, the whole team both in the office and those on site delivered our project efficiently, on time and to the highest of standards.
We engaged Habify to replace the polycarbonate roof of our 4x4m conservatory with a new warm tiled roof, and subsequently to replace the existing gutters and fascias on the home and garage to match those newly fitted to the conservatory.The work entailed on-site visits by four constructors working in pairs, two plasterers, a painter and an electrician. The conservatory work took 5 days, with 2 days painting a week later, and the gutters took 2 days.Despite very cold weather, the standard of the work was generally good to excellent, and we are very pleased with the outcomes. The ceiling plastering in particular was of a very high standard. The workmen were industrious, pleasant and competent. All waste materials were removed from site promptly, although we subsequently found some discarded nails, screws, etc., which we needed to clear up.Our main issue concerned communication. The commencement of the conservatory work was delayed by over 2 weeks, but we had to communicate proactively, rather than being informed in good time before the expected start date, and we found the staff manning the customer helpline to be uninformed and unhelpful. This was stressful and prolonged the upheaval within our home. In contrast, demands for the deposits, stage payments and on completion were always extremely prompt. We received a small discount in recompense. The work on the gutters and fascias was undertaken 2 weeks or so before the estimated start date, following an issue with a job elsewhere. This rescheduling was at 24 hours notice.Overall, the standard of workmanship was high and we thank them for all they did for us, but we could not recommend the company owner, Hugo, personally, because of the impact of his lack of communication and customer care.
I had my old conservatory fully replaced, including bi-fold doors, new double glazing and roof with roof lantern.I am very happy with the final product, but as another recent reviewer has commented, it was really very difficult working with this company, I’m afraid to say. Communication was incredibly poor from start to finish and it was a long, challenging and difficult process.I really don’t want to throw any small company under the bus, so I won’t provide details, but, in short, I would not use them again and could not recommend them, as they currently are.I need to say that Brad and Sam were great, and worked really hard when on site. Lovely, polite guys too. Hopefully, with some adjustments at an organizational level, the company can thrive, as the end product is great. In summary, the end product is what I wanted but it was not worth the significant additional emotional cost involved due to dire communication and organisation. I’m still waiting for paperwork and have emailed and texted several times.
Really impressed with overall experience. I wanted to go for a smaller independent company, over a large nationwide chain. From the point of quoting through to fitting, everyone was friendly, helpful, informative and not too pushy. I really felt like they genuinely wanted my business and they really adapted to what I asked for. Thank you.
We recently had a skylight fitted by habify. We started our search for the installation of a new roof for our conservatory with great trepidation because we knew it was a minefield out there rogue traders just waiting to relieve you of your hard earned cash, fortunately by doing due diligence we managed to secure the services of Habify Ltd. and as we have found out since we selected the right company for this task. From the get go they proved how professional they were with a fully itemised quotation, time frame, and exactly what you will pay in increments, start and finish date, subject to weather conditions. We shook hands on the agreed price and the work commenced after a 3 week lead in period. Two gentlemen appeared at our door at the agreed start time Sam and Brad as we were to find out, and they toiled away for the next 3 days clearing up at the end of each day leaving the garden and surrounding areas spotless. These 2 guys were the most amenable and friendly artisans you could ever wish to have complete a task like they have, many thanks to you and all staff at Habify for the wonderful completed project.
We live in Essex, we contacted Gary at habify first he came out and gave an outstanding talk about how good habify was and we went with this, we paid a great deal of money to have the roof changed and for it to be plastered and wired up and so on.Plastering inside wasn’t great, actually terrible, l offered to have our plaster but l believe he was more expensive so anyway Hugo organised for the plaster to attend there was a mix up there of timings the roof took longer than what it should have done and Hugo had to come and help out.The 2 guys that carried out the main roof where quiet good, but communication between Hugo and workmen was terrible!The was abit of the roofing that came off which they had to return and re-do but because we are so far away we had to be fitted in.The workmen replaced all the window boards inside of the conservatory and now for at least month l have sent pictures emails and telephone calls, l have spoke to Hugo once about 2 weeks ago and since hasn’t spoken to him as he hasn’t not replied back at all.The window board is coming away from underneath the window, the one time l have spoken to Hugo he didn’t want to take responsibility for this.But if the workmen had removed the window boards that were already there and not just stuck larger boards over the top then maybe the job would have been done properly.I have been trying consistently to contact Hugo, for a response regarding this issue to where he just is not coming back.I know they are a couple of hours drive but they didn’t mind taking the money but are not very quick or even bothered to come back when there are issues!I am appalled and before you use habify just remember they do extremely good lip service, and issues please bear in mind the may or may not get resolved, and when you are spending large amounts of money1- you need all facts2- even though all work is guaranteed it’s not with habify, as l have found out3- read between the BS/Lipservice that Hugo gives. Iam very disappointed that l have had write just to try and get some resolution from Hugo.
