HCF is there to make a profit; their only way to profit is to lean on long-term members and, in exchange, offer the bare minimum at a price that far exceeds other health funds, banking on the hope that NOT too many existing members will leave , thereby reducing profitability

Customer for 21 years, policy is now too expensive, tried to get 8 weeks free like they offer new customers but will not do it, not even 6 weeks or 4 weeks or anything for my loyalty. This is how they reward loyal customers with no discounts at all, so very unhappy will now have to go elsewhere due to them being too expensive compared to other providers.
Fantastic experience with Heet!We recently had to contact HCF regarding our policies and were lucky enough to speak with Heet. He was incredibly helpful, patient, and sorted everything out for us in no time. It’s great to see a health fund that employs such high-quality staff who actually care about their members. Highly recommend!
I really dislike companies that aren't upfront about price increases. Everything in the media at the moment states a premium increase of 4.96%. If you go to the website it states an average of 4.96%.Then you get your policy information and the reality is my premium has gone up 6.2%. Total BS. As a not for profit organisation, put the range on your website and not provide a vague average amount. Be upfront about it.HCF is not required to disclose individual executive pay in the same manner as companies like Medibank or NIB, which have their CEO pay disclosed. HCF has previously stated that its remuneration is designed to attract top talent while maintaining a sustainable, market-based framework. If you've got nothing to hide, how about you disclose that information? Why don't you attempt to keep your customer base while reducing the salaries of the pencil pushers? I'm struggling to keep my cover as a single parent. So disappointed with your lack of disclosure.
Absolutely terrible extras insurance, barely covers anything, you’re better off saving your premium and using that money to pay for things. Did not cover my preventative dental device (night splint) even though I am covered for preventative dental, they just tried to upsell me to top cover and then I would have to wait 12 months to claim. Scam
The staff they are everything Brett and retention team Christie helped me I was stuck across two insurers but needed a cover review. Specialist makes all the difference spent the time needed I will never change again all the gift cards in the world can't make up for he staff HCF are unmatched with their skill and ability in private health in my opinion Brett has restored my faith in cover was really close to quitting as too complicated but he took the time to help me. Amazing team thank you.
A number of incidents which I felt were not communicated well and burried between too many advertising correspondence - if at all communicated.Leading to loss of eligible claim due to: card not working and/or expiry of such without replacement sent prior to expiry (and card had no expiry date noted), and my child was removed from coverage with no prior warning or correspondence.Calls lengthy and not helpful. Disappointed about services overall, after sticking with HCF and paying for decades. Never felt I got good value from fees paid.
Hcf offer absolutely junk insurance. They don't offer any support and the claims experience is poor. The coverage that they provide is very limited and there always seems to be a reason why something is not covered. I've already submitted a complaint and will likely raise with afca as I know that they won't provide any assistance. They charge me over $200 a month and provide very little in return. I'm better off just saving the money and using it when required. I look forward to their response to my complaint
