My trip to Istanbul for the hair transplant was organized perfectly - from pickup at the Airport to transport to the Hotel and the clinic! At the clinic the transplant went fine, exactly as we had planned. The People at the clinic were very friendly and made the whole procedure a carefree experience. As I had Bern promised, the first pieces of hair appeared several weeks after the Operation. Today I‘m super happy with the result and recommend it 100%.
I had my transplant done here on Oct, 25. It’s been an awesome experience so far. Will note my experience as per the department below:Doctor & Technicians: They were really friendly. Took the time to draw out the plan of where the transplants should go. They also explained why the hairline can not go over the face muscles and why they can’t extract as many as I wanted as that will adversely affect the donor area. I also wanted some coverage of my crown area. We settled on a plan that was acceptable to both of us. The actual procedure went without a hitch. They were constantly asking me if I was ok and need a break. After the procedure, they explained what to expect in the next few days. On second day, when I felt dizzy after the initial wash, they had an IV room ready for me. Fortunately, I was feeling better and didn’t need it.Translators: I was assigned translators to help me communicate with the technicians. I was feeling really nervous on my first day. Utku (my translator on Day 1) was really awesome. He helped me put at ease and explained the who procedure over and over again. He also explained all the precautions they take. He was always with me in the room (even outside when I needed to have a smoke to calm my nerves). Beko (my translator on day 2) was also great and quite friendly. Explained the care package and reiterated to importance of taking it slow and take the IV if needed. I was really happy they were there to help as I was by myself.Transport and Hotel: I stayed at Selectum city. It’s pretty close to the clinic. All transportation were arranged by the clinic and was always on time.Post op follow up: Yanur followed up with me regularly answering my questions and guiding me through the recovery process. He was very patient, positive, and helpful. When I did my research, it was pretty noticeable that Hermest sits on the more expensive side of clinics that offer hair transplant. If you are ok with the cost, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a top notch, hassle free, caring and friendly service.
6 months on from the transplant the hair has come through perfectly. It was already pretty good after 3 months, and now has been getting comments from lots of people it's looking so good. The service and aftercare from Hermest has been great too.
I am now 10 months post hair transplant. I found this provider through advertising because they are in the mid-price range. They justify their higher price compared to competitors by emphasizing quality over quantity: only 2 patients per shift.I was treated at noon, in the 2nd shift.There are talks and paperwork until you lie on the operating table. I was given half a Xanax tablet without knowing what it was. Then they took blood from me.Then the doctor came to draw the hairline. I had no say in the matter and couldn’t decide which hairline I wanted. Moreover, I was groggy from the Xanax tablet.Then came the procedure to harvest the grafts from the back of the head. The anesthetic injections were extremely painful, even though I am used to pain as a martial artist.After the mechanical extraction, there was a short drinking break during which the grafts lay on a tray—I don’t know how high the survival rate of the grafts is in that time.Then the grafts were implanted. Again, there were horrible pains from the anesthetic injections. You just endure it all anyway because you’re on Xanax. During the implantation, I overheard the staff talking (I speak Turkish). They were talking about food and making jokes, but they were also arguing about the grafts one employee handed to another. They disagreed about single grafts and multi grafts. This is highly unprofessional.After the procedure, there was some food. The next day, before washing, they instruct you to write a good review. That explains all the positive reviews. Then they try to sell vitamins. If vitamins worked, you wouldn’t need a hair transplant.Every month they ask for photos and always give the same automated response: Everything looks good, do a scalp massage, get a PRP treatment, and take vitamins.I recognized very early on that this was not the hairline I wanted. The answer was: This is naturalness. I also noticed early that the frontal area is not dense enough for 3000 grafts. The answer was: It will come by month 12.Don’t let yourself be strung along. You can tell very early on how the result will be.Don’t expect any accommodation. And the guarantee certificate is worthless if the company decides whether it’s good or not. Of course, they won’t admit they did poor work. The maximum graft number is a lie: For me, it was supposed to be 3000 in front and 500 in the back. I’ve seen better results with 2000 grafts up front. You get the number of grafts that allows the team to finish on time.Do your research better when choosing a company and don’t go to Hermest. For my second hair transplant, for correction, I will research better. I was 32 years old and didn’t have a full bald head yet. If you have a full bald head, be aware that you will hardly notice any difference afterward.
