ABSOLUTELY A SCAM - STAY AWAY. Elderly parents conned into getting cover with this outfit - came through as a blinds company on the credit card! Got the money back for them. Twelve months later they phoned again - said they couldn't take payment as it was declined - when he explained why they tried to charge him to stop the cover!! He paid bless him and we had to go through the same process again. Now they've rung after another few months to say payment was declined......not a chance considering I'm still waiting for the manager to call back after the last call
This is a disgraceful outfit - would give it 0 stars if I could.They charged me £91.80 including VAT up front - I understood that this was in effect a deposit. I specifically asked how much on top of this to replace a small pane of plain glass, and was told "£10 to £200 depending on what was required" I certainly didn't understand that what I was paying was an introduction fee, and when I was presented a bill for £140 by the man who completed the job I expressed surprise.When I raised the matter with Local Repairs aka Home Services & Repairs Ltd I was told that the bill presented by the tradesman fell within the 'estimate' I was given, so why was I complaining? I am making a referral to Trading Standards because this is simply outrageous. The 'estimate' was misleading - deliberately so I suspect - because no tradesman will turn up for £10, so it was not unreasonable for me to believe that I was paying for the initial call out and that materials/extra time would be added on.They don't communicate by email, and the texts I got are ambiguous about what you have actually paid for - again, one suspects deliberately so.I would add that neither of the tradesmen allocated to my job was in any way local to where it was.In a nutshell - AVOID
We contacted this company to arrange for an engineer to fix our freezer. As with all the other recipients on this website we were ripped off in terms of payment charges. We paid £118.80 over the phone thinking that covered the whole bill. However the following day we were informed by a local agent (who we had to chase) that a further £200 would need to be paid direct to the engineer. At that point we cancelled the call out and contacted Home Services to request our money back. This was refused. We have subsequently taken this up with our bank to see if further action can be taken. Throughout the whole process we received no evidence of written confirmation.I totally agree with some of the other reviewers on TrustPilot i.e if they were giving out Minus ratings then this company absolutely fits the bill. They are not fit for purpose and don't seem capable of running a compliant business. Do not use them.
Called them as just moved into new house needed appliances connected charged £118 for same day service later they called to cancel as couldn't get an engineer heard nothing since so phoned somebody else to do it complete and utter disgrace that this is allowed to carry on
I don't know how they got my number, maybe off Rated People. They took my payment today and then I realised it didn't seem right, then I saw these reviews. I went to my bank and got the money back. Since then, they've left me a voicemail saying there's been a delay today and they'll be at mine tomorrow. From the reviews I'm guessing they won't be. If you see this and it's happened to you too, make sure you report it. I'll be getting in contact with trading standards
