I am appalled by this company.They have charged me £102.00 for absolutely nothing.I called with a plumbing emergency in the afternoon and was told that someone would call before 6pm.After 6 someone phoned and said he was too far away and would not come.I then had to call another company who came at great expense.I phoned this morning and was met by nothing but rudeness.AVOID AT ALL COSTS
An absolute rip off!!!! Do not use! Sent out a heating engineer after charging me £99 plus VAT for the engineers to then charge me £99 for ten minutes of his time. The boiler wasn't even repaired!!! I rang back to complain as I was informed by text that I would be paying a half hourly rate.....in my calculation, that means the engineer is charging £198 per hour!! Really, I don't think so!!! DO NOT USE THIS RIP OFF SERVICE!!!!!!!!
KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!ATTENTION "RIP OFF MERCHANTS." My parents needed an emergency electrician. They rang HOME SERVICE REPAIRS who are based in Kent. An upfront charge of £188. A bloke turned up in flashy Golf GTi with just a toolbox. He found the fault and left an absolutely disgusting resolution to fix the problem. The bloke was at the address for 4 hours and charged a whopping £800 for 4 hours work. Not bad at £200 an hour!!!Plus the £118 on top. No receipt was given either. APPAULING AND DISGUSTING HOW PEOPLE HAVE THE HEART TO LITERALLY RIP OFF THE ELDERLY. This company needs to be reported to the trading standards. KEEP AWAY. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED BY LITERALLY LOADS OF DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS.
I telephoned this company following a Yellow Pages search because I had woken up to find that on flushing my toilet it was blocked. I was told that they could send a plumber within about an hour. After giving my details, I was asked to pay by card. I expressed surprise by this, and the response was 'this is just the way we work'. I asked if they could guarantee that the plumber would arrive as stated, and they confirmed. I then paid the fee of £99 (using my debit card), which I had understood was for the job. They mentioned that the plumber would charge extra for any parts required. When the plumber had not arrived after two hours, I contacted the company and was told that the booked time was 4 to 5 pm. Shortly before 5pm I received a call from a plumber saying that he would take over an hour to get to me and would be charging £150 plus parts. He then explained that Home Services have charged me a booking fee. I was completely unaware that the original charge was just a booking fee and told him this was unacceptable, and not to attend. On checking my email I found a receipt for £118.80 (including VAT) non-refundable booking fee. I telephoned the company and asked for a full refund as no services had materialised. This was declined.
I rang to ask for a plumber to help with a leaking kitchen tap. I was told that the booking fee would be £102 including VAT. At no point did the gentleman making the booking tell me that this was non refundable. 5 minutes later I rang back as I had realised that I have insurance to cover the problem and would no longer need the visit. I was then told that the booking fee was non refundable. This is absolutely outrageous, no expense was incurred by the company in the 5 minutes between the booking being made and trying to cancel it. I am a pensioner and cannot afford to lose that sort of money.
