Only gave them 1 star because I couldn't give them a zero!Wife paid £118 for a locksmith call out, same day emergency service. Phone booker somehow managed to get a totally different address, but this was really irrelevant as later that day was told they wouldn't attend as they were off sick. Following day appointment was missed because they 'said' they had an emergency call out which obviously trumped our requirement. Next appointment they didn't turn up because they said they had a broken down van.Totally unacceptable service, avoid at all cost and try and support your local trades people.Had a local locksmith turn up at the time they said and resolved the issue for £80. Also much cheaper than the £118 booking fee and charge that their tradesman would have made to us if he had been bothered to turn up.Did get a refund, but also found out the tradesman that never arrived had booked the job as completed.Awful, awful, awful experience....don't touch these with someone else's barge pole!!! The only positive thing I can say is they did refund the booking fee
Elderly parent thought she’d paid £99 for a call out which didn’t arrive in the time frame or extended time frame. So she cancelled the job saying she’s get a new machine instead- only to be told she wouldn’t receive the full deposit and they would try to give something back but they had made calls on her behalf even though they had resulted in absolutely nothing!! The service she paid for was not delivered so she needs full refund. Following my call this morning- a full refund was promised. Shame I needed to jump in to defend her rights! Update a week after the service was not delivered - still not received the full refund - only half. Also although expecting £99 to be taken from her account - actually £118.80 was taken. Was advised I could not speak to accounts to make sure this was in fact being processed. Update again over a week since the incident- still no full refund. Update 11th March - refund finally received.
I was horrified to be charged £90 for an 'introduction' to a builder. One turned up and promised he would send an estimate. I never received one. I complained and was told they couldn't give me a refund as an engineer had called. They said eventually I could have a 50% refund and they would send another engineer. I have to pay them separately. Their website does not mention the fee payable before you start which I think is scandalous. I await my new engineer.
Took £106 booking fee when plumber cancelled. Been over a week and they refuse to say when they are refunding my money?. I’m a carer looking after disabled husband, and they just put the phone down and say they don’t know when I should receive monies owed.
As an independent heating engineer asked to fix a warm air unit they told me customer would psy me directly but they had already took payment from the customer ignored any further calls and texts.Pleased to say customer was able to do a bank indemnity as miss sold goods or services and got his money back next day he offered to pay me instead I opted to him donating £40 to the local food bank
Avoid this company. You pay them booking fee 90 pounds to find you the tradesman. Then the guy comes taking another 90 pounds for 10 minutes to do the diagnostics. Then have to pay for whatever extra for the job. Whatever! Don’t know how they even still exist. Absolutely rubbish!
AVOID! This company is a scam. Paid £102 for absolutely nothing. They said the engineer would be with us by 4. Kept calling then they said he couldn't come. And won't give a refund as they are non refundable. Which is not stated anywhere on the call. So man on the phone was so rude. Do not use this company.
See all the previous comments on Trustpilot. Nowhere on their website does it mention staggering payments to them, only 'Pay your local expert directly for the job carried out'. They actually charged £90 inc vat just for booking, the trader doesn't get any of that.I am reporting to Trading Standards and suggest everyone else does the same.UPDATE 06/02/2024Home Services & Repairs would love to understand your experience better, so they’ve asked for more details about your review—like an order number or email.Well, I am only too willing to assist.Firstly, it should be obvious to most people that if you have 40 reviews and 39 have given you one star (I suspect most would be zero if Trustpilot gave that option) then you need to have a good look at yourselves if you genuinely want to fix the problem. For a company that’s only existed since 14 Apr 2023 it should be very worrying, unless you don’t care because you’re making money. Accounts have yet to be filed with Companies House.Inexplicably one ‘customer’ gave four stars because quote “there a call centre you can hear noise in the background”. Most large organisations will have noisy call handling, that doesn’t mean they are obviously a call centre only.On the website we see logos for Yell, Bing & Google with 5 stars beneath each. To most people that would indicate a star rating from those organisations. Clearly none of those organisations have given any rating but the intention is to make it look that way. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.Next, “The mission is to provide reliable, professional, and affordable Experts to local households and businesses”. The company is not providing any such thing, it is only connecting you to the experts, exactly the same as if you searched on Google and found them yourself. The BIG difference is Google won’t charge you but this company will, big time. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.Next, we see “Call Us we take details and get you Booked In”. This would be the obvious place to state that there is an upfront fee for this service but the owners have chosen NOT to make this obvious. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.Next, “Pay the Expert for doing your job”. Again, this is an ideal place to add, “this is in addition to the upfront fee we charge”.Next, the three ‘customer’ testimonials all praise the people that did the job, NOT the company that sent them. This gives the impression that the company is being praised and the experts were provided by them. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.Next, in case you didn’t get the impression that the local experts work for the company, they have an image of a white van with their company name along the side. If you’re a call centre, why would you have a van giving the impression that these experts are driving around in a fleet of liveried vehicles. That smacks of deception, intentionally or otherwise.It’s only after you get sucked in to making the call and paying, that you receive a text making it clear that you’ve just been had.Ian Hawkes, if you want to ‘understand my experience’ just be honest, state clearly on your website that you ONLY connect customers to experts and you don’t actually provide anything other than that.
