Wow! Pretty much sums it up. One of the nicest winter breaks i have ever had. Stayed in The Byre. Cottage was super clean, warm and comfy. Staff all amazing and friendly. A treat bag waiting for our doggie. Just a lovely relaxing break in a beautiful peaceful setting. Would definitely be coming back. Cold evenings in the hot tub and spent by the log burner after a lovely day exploring the beautiful area.
16 to 20th Feb at Brixham holiday park.
We stayed in a lower block chalet of two the noise from above is unbearable. We complained 2nd day thinking workmen were in there. No. The reception is closed at about 5pm with integral shop understocked and very tiny. Our 6pm complaint to the bar said go to our out of hours number. Eventually they called back saying something will be done we will call you back. No call back noise continuing being woken up.
3 days into so called holiday only one singer entertainment for one night. League darts match one night being stabbed in back with wayward dart. Pleasant walk walk to harbour as buses infrequent finishing at 6pm. Unpleasant walk to doctors for dressing medication for damaged, bruised and cut knee to my wife. Tried to add photo of knee, no go. On reception entrance the door threshold is about 9 inches high, my wife tripped and fell on all fours. THIS IS ILLEGAL as no wheelchair access, no warning sign and dangerous.
Compared to other parks it is much smaller. Little entertaiment and far more expensive. We tried it as it was closer to the harbour we will not be using this one again.
Appears that you no longer can speak to someone on the phone when you need to communicate a concern and instead speak via a chat box.
My concerns were not dealt with and indeed they were dismissed and when I asked if I have a problem with the site when I get there “whom do I contact “ was told despite Hoseasons taking my booking/money/private details they have no legal responsibility to me and my contact is with the site directly. Basically Hoseasons washed their hands of me once they got my money! Very poor customer service and I hope that when I do get to the site that it is as advertised 🤷♀️
Medical Emergency meant i could not go on the weekend away. Contacted Hoseason's to explain but as it was too close to the travel dates they said that I could cancel and loose 95% of my money or I could move it to another weekend within 10 weeks BUT I have to pay the difference on the lodge prices. Which was Double the original price i paid. There was no form of empathy from the teams i spoke to. i understand policies and practices but Feels like they care more about the money than the people.
My husband and I had booked a trip through another company and thought we would book a hotel for 1 night & come up a day early. Not such a clever idea because as we were walking down to breakfast on the morning that our holiday was supposed start, I got an email to say the holiday had been cancelled & my refund was on it's way. Determined I was going to get my break, I got on to the Hoseasons website and by the time we sat down with our full English I had found somewhere for us to go, paid for it & had the confirmation email. It was cheaper than what we had previously booked too! We have used Hoseasons a few times and we have always been pleased but this time they really were amazing.
I'm a huge fan of this service! I've arranged around five getaways with them! I appreciate the option to pay in installments, which makes it budget-friendly. Their communication has consistently been excellent, and I always receive timely updates! The entire process is effortless and seamless.
We had another fantastic getaway at Aber Bay for the Christmas holidays. The Premier lodge with a bay view was cozy and offered a stunning vista over Clarach Bay. There were plenty of towels and the bedding was impeccably clean. The amenities at Aber Bay are excellent, and the staff are consistently friendly and accommodating. The hot tub is maintained daily and adds a touch of luxury to this exceptional lodge. I never tire of this hidden gem and can't wait to return this year.
The call was answered promptly without excessive menu options. The representative attentively considered my needs and quickly confirmed the availability and pricing for my request. I wanted to verify with my husband, so the booking was put on hold, and a callback was scheduled for later that day. I am genuinely excited about our upcoming getaway.
The accommodation was charming and the meet and greet was pleasant. Overall, everything was satisfactory, but there's room for improvement regarding the cancellation insurance. It's crucial to inform clients that even if they purchase cancellation insurance, they will lose their entire payment without a two-week notice. A warning should be included when buying insurance for bookings made within four weeks of the holiday date, as this is when clients start losing a percentage of their payment. Alternatively, it would be better to eliminate the option for insurance within that timeframe. We were fortunate that our holiday proceeded as planned, but I discovered that had I needed to cancel, I wouldn't receive any refund due to the time constraints, resulting in paying extra for a service that couldn't be utilized. For last-minute bookings, I wouldn't recommend purchasing the insurance since it seems unworthy, but I would consider staying with them again as the cabin was delightful.
