Do not sign up to the instant ink program unless you want to pay extortionate amounts for printing.
For 2months I was charged £80 to use a printer I owned. In that time I wasn’t even sent any more ink!!!
Customer service tried to sell me a new printer and did nothing to help.
This HP 6032e printer is hands-down one of the worst pieces of tech I've ever owned. I have put up with this purchase since mid 2024. From day one, the connectivity is a complete disaster – it drops Wi-Fi constantly, refuses to reconnect without endless resets, and the HP Smart app is glitchy and unreliable. Half the time it shows as "offline" even when it's sitting right next to the router. Printing from my phone or laptop turns into a 20-minute battle of troubleshooting that should never happen in 2026.
Then there's the cartridge communication issues – the printer suddenly decides the brand-new HP cartridges aren't "recognized," throws error messages, or claims they're empty after barely any use. It's clearly designed to force you into their overpriced Instant Ink subscription trap, and when it inevitably fails, you're stuck wasting money and time.
Worst of all is HP's customer service. It's nonexistent or actively hostile. Hours on hold, scripted responses that don't solve anything, bots that loop you in circles, and zero accountability. They push you to buy more ink or "upgrade" instead of fixing basic functionality. This isn't a printer; it's a scam disguised as one.
Save yourself the headache and money – avoid HP's "e" series printers entirely. 0/5 stars, and I'd give negative if I could. Absolute garbage, I might as well have bought a brick.
I tried to replace the ink cartridge in my printer and was informed that I needed an account. I wasted over 30 minutes trying to locate a phone number for a representative, only to struggle with providing my email. The customer service is absolutely inadequate, the usability is extremely poor, and I will make sure my entire department stops using products from this brand and switches to a more dependable alternative.
You purchase a printer, believing it's yours to use at home, yet the company restricts functionality, forcing you to rely on their expensive ink. Now, I can't even access the scan feature without creating an account and paying for a subscription. It's hard to believe this business is still operating. If they were to go bankrupt, I would celebrate. I truly dislike this printer and the company. Consider alternatives if you want to avoid an app dictating how you use equipment you've already bought. It's a complete scam.
It's hard to convey just how exasperating this printer is. The company has turned the simplest task of printing into a complete nightmare. After spending an entire day trying to set it up, it remains non-functional. The accompanying app seems like it should be intuitive, but it’s quite the opposite—bringing nothing but confusion. You can't just plug it in and print; every step feels complicated, and the printer frequently loses connection. It might work once or twice, but then it's back to endless setup frustration. Contacting customer support? That will cost you more than a quarter of the printer’s price for basic help. This device seems engineered to make printing as challenging as possible. Highly complicated. Infuriating. Nearly impossible to use. The company clearly shows little regard for user experience. I strongly advise against this product.
I can't even begin to explain how maddening this printer is. The company has managed to turn the simplest task of printing a document into an absolute nightmare. I've dedicated an entire day to setting it up, and it still refuses to work. The app is supposed to be user-friendly, but it’s anything but—just a source of confusion and irritation. You can't simply plug it in and print; every step is a hassle, and the connection drops constantly. It might function once or twice, but then it sends you back into a cycle of endless setup frustration. Contacting customer support? Be prepared to spend more than a quarter of the printer's price just to get basic help. This printer seems designed to make printing as difficult as possible. Highly complicated. Infuriating. Nearly impossible to use. The company clearly doesn’t care about user experience. I strongly advise against purchasing this.
Do NOT buy this printer! The Wi-Fi connectivity is inconsistent and fails often, especially after periods of inactivity. Simple printing tasks turn into hours of troubleshooting, resets, and reconnecting to Wi-Fi that may or may not work. Pages are incorrectly counted under the ink subscription, including test pages and system pages that are printed during troubleshooting. You end up paying for the printer's malfunctions. Customer support is extremely inadequate, wasting your time on useless AI assistants and repetitive troubleshooting steps. What used to be straightforward is now unnecessarily complex. The design prioritizes subscriptions over reliability. Avoid this printer unless you enjoy frustration and wasted time.
I miss the days when printers were simple: buy one, unbox it, plug it in, and it just worked. Now, it requires an internet connection to download software instead of having it pre-installed. After struggling for an hour with everything set up, it still won’t print. If the company is using AI, it feels primitive. To add to the frustration, the installation software is ironically named "Smart"—it’s anything but. However, once I finally navigated the setup issues, the product itself is of good quality and offers decent value.
I recently purchased this printer but have faced significant challenges during setup. I've spoken with customer service three times, and each time the representatives were rude and disconnected the call. I still don't have the answers I need and regret buying this device. The customer support is practically nonexistent. I'm extremely frustrated with a new printer that I can't even use. The last support call suggested I 'just return it,' making me feel like I'm wasting their time by asking for help on something not covered in the setup guide. I will never buy from this brand again.
