Terrible customer service, app is appalling for trying to deposit cheques and online staff are deeply unhelpful.Initially cheque was honoured and paid into my account and then an hour or so later the funds were rescinded by the bank with no explanation. I tried several times to redeposit the cheque only to be told that there was a technical issue with the cheque (spoiler, there was not) and that they would not honour it but would write to me to let me know why.Fast forward to my having to tell the person who sent the cheque a week before Christmas that it wasn't good enough for HSBC and get them to pay my cash instead. Honestly dreadful. I have also experienced the joy of HSBC repeatedly refusing to transfer my money to the person I was buying a second hand car from which necessitated 8 separate phone calls to sort out Avoid unless you want a near permanent headache
