Absolutely a joke asking people for additional information on who the customer is solely basing it on orders from austrac. This is the people who do fraud checks why are basic customers not being told who this is or why? Also what risk am I and who is this information being shared with? Because your customer service has no idea and if we choose not to give anymore information we are threatened with your account being terminated. No bank branches to actually go and see someone face to face it’s now feels like everyone owns you if don’t do it then your out why is big business not customer friendly anymore. The amount it costs to use this account when you don’t have a single atm in qld and the threats from your staff including the supervisors for over ten years I’ve been a customer now it’s time to go elsewhere. this bank does nothing for it’s customers . Another thing if you’re company is available 24/7 why did I have to make 5 phone calls to get in touch. That took more than 90 hours. One return call that I missed nothing to say I’ll try you later now it’s back tome to chase you again. Can’t speak about the other person on the account but only one of us needs to close it which makes no sense. The new moto for Australia (do as your told you don’t have rights anymore if you don’t we will shut you out) one day Australia will wake up.

Had a savings maximiser. Needlessly complicated with too many items to do each month to unlock the bonus interest. Cynically, its this way to confuse savers. Should be called a savings minimiser. Stay clear.

Concern Over Privacy and Trust Issues

I closed my account with the company 8 years ago due to a breakdown in partnership. Recently, I attempted to open a new account to secure a favorable interest rate for my funds. To my surprise, I discovered that the company has retained all my information throughout these years. This raises significant concerns regarding privacy. The company should have removed my details shortly after I closed my account. I no longer view them as a reliable entity.

I changed to Ing Direct approximately 3 months ago. I have an everyday Ing account which I put my pension money in and I have an Ing Maximizer. When I was in the CBA, I had to put $200 in per month to qualify for any interest. If

Years of loyalty overshadowed by a frustrating experience.

After years of banking with the company, my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. Out of the blue, they requested that I resubmit all my documents—including payslips and ID—which I did without delay. Then, just yesterday, my account was entirely wiped out, and I found myself locked out of my own funds.
When I reached out, they stated that my ID wasn’t verified, despite me providing the same documents when I initially opened the account. After further communication, I even went the extra mile to submit a Justice of the Peace–verified ID, yet I am still waiting for my account to be reactivated.
The support team has been unhelpful, dismissive, and has not provided any viable solutions. Following this ordeal, I am seriously contemplating switching to a different bank.

They wiped my my money in my account

I’ve been banking with ING for years, but this recent experience has been incredibly disappointing. Out of nowhere, they asked me to resubmit all my documents—including payslips and ID—which I promptly provided. Then yesterday, my account was completely wiped and I was suddenly locked out of my own money. When I called, they claimed my ID wasn’t JP‑verified, even though I submitted the exact same documents when I first opened the account. After speaking with them again, I went out of my way to provide a Justice of the Peace–verified ID, yet I’m still waiting for my account to be reactivated.Their customer service has been unhelpful, dismissive, and offered no real solutions. After this ordeal, I’m seriously considering switching banks.

No name
Try and change your name with this bank…

Try and change your name with this bank with no branches - this was a second time i mailed it in and redid the verification, so i did it again then they felt that my verified documents were still not efficient enough - like the police man verifying my birth certificate had not spelt out his name as well as a signature on the document. The time and effort it took me to snail-mail and get these documents sent via australia post (old fashioned) was in itself enougn of an excuse to now go and close all my accounts with ING.

Terrible and discriminatory customer service

Complaint 1 In August 2025 ING sent a replacement transaction account debit card by ordinary post. The card was lost in the mail without being activated. Despite this ING blocked my then current debit card denying access to my funds and causing me substantial financial stress and financial loss.It took ING over 7 days to send a new replacement card by express post. Despite substantial correspondence ING has flatly refused to consider sending cards by a more secure method. Complaint 2The ING online credit card application system was not functioning correctly and iNG did not bother to respond to requests for assistance. As a result the application was automatically rejected.Despite substantial correspondence and the fact that documentation was provided proving that I met all ING criteria for the issue of a credit card, ING has refused to issue a credit card.
