Amazing team! They worked back and forth with us to make our holiday perfect. When we had issues with our flights they were very helpful in helping us rearrange the itinerary and find new accommodations and tours. We will definitely use their services for our next trip!
This is the second time I have used Insight Guides to sort out my itinerary. First to Sri Lanka and recently (February 2020) to Vietnam. The itinerary was great and while I was planning it, there was room for change and modification. Nothing was a problem. I would recommend them to people who have no real idea of the country they are visiting and need some guidance. There was always an alternative or other options so one didn't feel you were just given an itinerary that wasn't flexible. The guides we had were all excellent. Good job Insight Guides. We recently spent 10 days in Nepal on tour organized by Insight Guides, and local agent Malla Tours. Nepal is an amazing country and our trip was made particularly special by Prim, our amazing tour guide. We normally prefer to travel on our own, but Nepal is a challenge for individual tourists. Prim made sure that everything from airport pickup to drop off went smoothly. Prim was extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of Nepal history, culture, the Buddhist and Hindu religions, flora and fauna. We were awed by the depth and breadth of Prim's knowledge and we came away with a deep appreciation of Nepal and its people. Prim was an excellent ambassador for Nepal! On a side note.....After Prim got us checked in at the Kathmandu airport and moments before we were to board our plane, there was a small fire at the airport which delayed all flights. The was brought under control by the authorities fairly quickly and we were never in any danger. Surprisingly, Prim became aware of the incident and stayed in touch with us throughout the delay and until we landed safely in Cambodia the next morning. We could not have had a better experience in Nepal!
We were going to Patagonia last minute and had no time to plan. We used the Insight Guide service and they put us in touch with a local guide who made us a custom itinerary and took care of all the bookings. We were slightly afraid that some things may not go as planned, but in the end everything turned out exactly as promised, all the schedules were kept and they were really nice and flexible during the planning process and provided great support during our trip. A stellar job, guys!
We had a terrific time in Vietnam thanks to our guide, Sunny. He had everything taken care of, had wonderful surprises planned, and kept us entertained. He was very accommodating. Our group felt well informed. We appreciated the history he shared and recommendations for interesting places to explore. I highly recommend Sunny and all of the staff behind the scenes that helped us enjoy ourselves here. Thank you, great job!
Insight Guides arranged my tour across Myanmar, in collaboration with their continental agency-colleague Backyard Travel. I personally do not think any improvements could be made, both during the pre-planning and whilst traveling. The entire experience was extremely intuitive, as I easily communicated and cooperated with all involved members, including: the Insight Guides itinerary planners, and the near-dozen local guides on-site, across multiple towns and formats in the country. Insight Guides offers both guiding and e-books for traveling across the world, and my only suggestion is that it offers customers further budget options, such as ultra-deluxe, or reduced-cost: -- My holiday resulted in a way that was just right for me, and I just wish that an even wider range of travelers may access Insight Guides by having a more versatile offering of budgetary constraints. My flights domestically were not private, for example, but I believe customers should have the option to totally customize their plans if this is what they can afford. I noticed also that the e-books could recommend more 5 star hotels and Michelin-styled restaurant options, but the context and background summary of the country was perfect. For example, after reading the e-book, I was able to converse and have serious discussions with dozens of locals during my holiday, which is necessary for me as an Investor, PR personality, and public figure.
