My data is on the dark web thanks to Instantcheckmate..

Alert DetailsExposed: 01/25/23Exposed Data : Password: encryptedExposed Data : Name: I erased to protectDescription: Your personal information (which could include emails, passwords, names, surnames, and phone numbers) was identified in a data exposure associated with "Instantcheckmate.com." The data was located on the Dark Web in January 2023. Additional Credentials: Phone Number. Hacker Id: Instantcheckmate.comI highly suggest everyone stay clear of data broker Instantcheckmate.com due to their data breach. My personal info was exposed on the dark web due directly to Instant checkmate.com. I used this data broker once prior to year 2019. After this data breach, Instant Checkmate.com did not make any effort to inform their clients of the data breach. Why? I surmise most likely to protect their business; past and future. How did I find out my info had been compromised? By the use of my two personal identity protection apps. I purchased these two apps due to a seperate recent incident that fortunately turned out to be only a scare. However, soon after purchasing these identity theft protection apps, the following was revealed regarding my personal info on file at Instantcheckmate.com: "Exposed Data : Password: encryptedExposed Data : Name: I've removed.Description: Your personal information (which could include emails, passwords, names, surnames, and phone numbers) was identified in a data exposure associated with instantcheckmate.com. The data was located on the Dark Web in January 2023. 4 years had past since Instantcheckmates breach. If I had been informed by InstantCheckmate in year 2019 of their data breach, I would have taken protective measures immediately that may have helped protect my personal identity.Need I say more? You have been warned. Do business with Instant CheckMate.com, and you risk having your data exposed on the dark web. Yes this could happen at any company on the private, public, or government level. The point I'm making is that instantcheckmate.com failed to inform myself, or any of their clients that they had experienced a data breach in year, or prior to 2019. The US federal government is well aware that local governments, whether it be a large city or a small town sell our personal info to data brokers. These data brokers then sell the information to these so-called "People look-up sites" such as Instant Checkmate.com. I now pay a service to remove my data from data brokers. However, it's just a forever ongoing process. If my data is removed, then the data will once again be sold to a data broker. Thereby my personal data will once again end up on most likely all of the 400 plus "People look-up sites" now in existence. There is some legitimate business theory regarding these "People look-up sites." However, in this digital age, all of our data that appears on these "People look-up sites," is prime to be ultized by data hackers. Through legitimate bills pass by Congress, our US government should shut these data brokers and "people look-up sites." Why? According to LifeLock by Norton TV promotion, the following is revealed:" Every 3 seconds in this country, a person becomes a victim of identity theft." Every 3 seconds! According to statistics, cyber crime such as identify theft is the fastest growing crime in the US. Remember the data breach at Equifax year 2017? It's only going to get worse. These companies that have data breaches sometimes only offer one year of identity protection theft from one of the three credit reporting agencies. These agencies are supposed to protect us, but they, too, can be affected by data breaches, just like Equifax. That doesn't take into consideration the financial and emotional loss of one losing their personal identity. Something that will stay with an affected person for the rest of their lives. I've read that in many cases, one is not always able to obtain a new social security number. We should all as US citizens not be so tied to a number given to us at birth. Especially now living in the digital age. This is another subject that could possibly be solved by Congress passing certain bills to eliminate this problem. Back in the analog days prior to the digital world, we humans survived just fine without all of these "People look-up sites. Plus, there is no concern in regard to the dark web that did not exist. Recall the movie " Terminator" in 1984? Well, considering the information coming out regarding AI (artificial intelligence) nowadays, it appears that the plot is not so far off base after all.

GREAT Resource For Stalkers!

There's this woman I like, but she completely ignores me. I Googled her name, and BINGO! Instant Checkmate was there for me. I was able to find out her present and past home addresses, her phone numbers (GREAT!), her family members, age, birthdate, and more. She won't be able to ignore me for long! This is THE most comprehensive resource I have come across as far as publicly exposing personal information/doxing. Definitely recommended for unstable people looking to gain an edge in the game. :-)

This is a Joke

This is a Joke. I got constant errors (AW SNAP) trying to download a couple of reports. I had to constantly start over. I did a report on myself to see how reliable their information was. Wow, There was 5 times more wrong information on me than there was correct. There were at least 10 different names that I have never heard of, that said were my associates! They even had a few of my previous addresses in states I have never been to. It is hard to have a previous address in a state I have never even visited! One part of the website that works very precisely and quickly, the part that charges your credit card. They made sure that works.

I would not leave any stars but you…

I would not leave any stars but you have to to do a review. This company is a rip off. All I wanted was my military records in which is in their ad and there was not bit of information. I tried calling to no avail, so I left an email to stop my so called 14 day free trial, before they deducted any more money out of my bank account. They said my subscription or membership or whatever they want to call it was canceled, but yet they are still taking money out of my bank account, instead of crediting it back. Be aware:::::: they are just like any other money making scam companies out there. I wish our government would start coming down on these thieves,,

I was disappointed in their lack of…

I was disappointed in their lack of compliance with CCPA. When I requested access to my data, they sent me a .json file that wasn’t formatted for readability, and only contained my browsing data for one visit in early December. Surely they can’t believe that information meets the standard for CCPA? In addition, when I went to LinkedIn to see information on the company, there’s a profile of the owner of Instant Checkmate, with the name Channing Checkmate that uses a stock photo of a smiling man in a suit.
