Not to Bad

It's not to bad I like it its very in order. Sometimes it confuses me and I can't find the right place to go. Otherwise not bad, but I prefer Google Classroom better.

I hate you so much.

How can you run such a poorly managed website/ app and have the audacity to have schools use it. This website makes my life a nightmare for otherwise easy classes on a daily basis, every review I see of the Canvas Instructure company is awful and has been awful since the apps inception, yet there has been no significant change. I hate you. I hate all of you so incredibley much you make my life harder everyday. Why would you have students enter their student ID number to recover their password instead of ... their student email?? Where does the reset email even go to when I input my ID number. Just the basic level of common sense needed to live day-to-day and not forget to breath is absent from your software design. I hate you people so much. The fact this company is still standing is a scathing review of the American for-profit education system, and from the bottom of my heart I hope Instructure is aware that the continual existence of this company makes this country a worse every single day.

Incredibly Frustrating Product: The Ultimate in "Passive-Aggressive" Software Design

Oh, my gosh, what an incredibly frustrating customer experience. I am a teacher in a large public high school with extensive corporate and then (after a career switch) teaching experience. Canvas may be the single most passive-aggressive piece of software I have ever used. Basic functionality just doesn't work. Updates are focused on non-priorities while essential problems sail on unfixed. New features (like the infamous "New Quizzes" are not only not wanted but, as originally planned, were going to blow up countless teachers existing quizzes!!) make functionality worse.I am presently chatting w/ Canvas support for probably the fortieth time. My current issue is a grading issue: they have taken away the ability to swipe to new students asking probably an extra minute to every student. For me with 150 students that means an extra 2.5 hours to grade. The kicker? I go to the product discussion forum and am asked to fill out a survey. They ask for some final thoughts. I type out a lengthy response only to be told (after the fact) that the character max is 500.Ho ho ho!! The jokes on the customer! The passive aggressive software company wins again!! Go with Blackbaud or, honestly, anybody but these customer-hating jerks.

It gets the job done

It gets the job done but is surprisingly slow. The email system is very alloying to use as there are no drafts, so if you mis click you lose the whole email. At least it helps to finish your work on time.Edit: I just realized why it's so slow. It you press the book icon on the left tool bar it opens the courses menu. If you press the very top ling named 'All Courses' It shows you ALL of the classes you ever took and you can access all of the assignments you EVER HAD! No wonder its so slow, there are HUNDREDS of links to items you didn't even know about and will never use taking up space!!! If yall get rid of this feature it would probably fix a lot of the lag and make the whole platform faster.

My Canvas Review w/ Strayer University Online

This platform is supposed to make taking your courses online easier, but I found that keeping what is due on a weekly basis more than confusing. Instead of it showing exactly what to do and where to go, you really have to search through the criteria every week to make sure you did everything. Also I was supposed to be able to get a bonus credit for answer a daily question to show participation and it is very difficult to find it.

Go away with your misleading adds

Go away with your misleading adds. You are harassing me with your adds despite me not being a student. How you got hold on my e-mail address is beyond me but you have no right to send messages daily. Go away.

Canvas is a Security Nightmare

Canvas is a Security Nightmare. New to my University, the program was rolled out without piloting with students and staff. Too many glitches to mention, but biggest is security. The program is interrupted by Norton Anti-Virus... not because Norton is bad, but because of the scripts being used in the open source platform. Students have had to dump their security software in favor of one that doesn't catch Canvas' problems. If the student logs in to the app, but doesn't log out - the app stays open and logged in (even when shut down). If the student LOGS OUT of the app, and closes the window, the next time they access the program - it is ALREADY LOGGED IN. This is supposed to be the largest / most successful LMS in the world??? Anyone see a cybersecurity target?

Could be a little better.

For the past four years, my campus had everyone in the 9th-12th grade complete our college assignments in our early college classes. Although it had a few bad things about it, I still liked the platform. Here is my above average experience.I like how you have three different page views. They are the calendar, the little squares, and stack view, which I prefer the most. You can easily send an email to another student or your professor. I also enjoyed the little icons for each class on the page. No two students have the different color for their class, which I found interesting.I don't like it how when you try to access a certain page on a college class you completed, you won't be allowed to view any pages of that course again. The classes disappear without your permission, as if they think you're being nosy. I also don't like how we have many awful professors in our district, but that's the district's fault, not the fault of Canvas. To summarize this, I enjoyed using the easy, simple tool of Canvas. If you have a school district that mainly supports online college work, you might want to give this a try.

CANVAS is difficult to configure

CANVAS is difficult to configure, slow to update, not user-friendly, and, in my opinion, benefits do not surpass other systems like MOODLE.
