Unacceptable Service and Missing Belongings — No Resolution
My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
I worked directly with Nico Restrepo and Julie Allman, and unfortunately the level of service, follow-up, and accountability has been extremely poor. Commitments were made that were not honored, and I was given assurances that my belongings would be handled properly. Instead, multiple items are still missing, and I have not received them back.
One of my shipments was never even delivered to its intended destination. It was not loaded into any international container, nor did it leave the country through any port. The belongings remained entirely under the company’s custody and control. How it is possible for items to be lost under those circumstances is completely unacceptable. This loss occurred while the shipment was fully managed by the company.
At this point, I have no confirmation that any meaningful search is being conducted, nor any evidence that real action is being taken to resolve the situation. Communication has been insufficient, and the overall experience demonstrates that this is not a company you can rely on or trust with your personal property.

I am extremely upset and disappointed. I expect responsibility and professionalism. I demand that all of my belongings be located and returned.
Until this matter is resolved, I will continue sharing my experience publicly through reviews. If my items are found and returned, I will have no issue removing my reviews. However, at this moment, I remain deeply dissatisfied with the service provided.

I would not wish my experience with IVL on anyone—it was truly a horrible experience, negative in every aspect.
Communication was poor and inconsistent: I was contacted promptly when payments were due, but otherwise left in the dark about timelines, progress, and critical updates. At one point, IVL even forgot to process and communicate a required payment, which caused additional delays and significant stress.
The packing was shockingly unprofessional for an international move. The packers arrived four hours late and took two full days to pack a two-bedroom apartment. High-value Italian design furniture was wrapped in paper only. Fragile ceramic tiles were thrown diagonally into a box with no protection. Most alarming, a two-meter marble slab—one of the most fragile items—was wrapped in paper and left unsecured in the container, outside of the strapped and protected items, free to slide around during transit. Unsurprisingly, it arrived broken into three pieces.
Organizationally, the shipment arrived months late—which can happen—but there was absolutely no proactive communication about delays, timing, or shipment progress. Reassurances given beforehand about special care and oversight were simply ignored.
When I raised concerns, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. I was even told, verbatim: “You know you are not the only client IVL has.”
I have moved and shipped overseas many times, and I have never experienced anything close to this level of negligence, disorganization, and disregard for a client’s belongings. I would never use their services again, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for any international move involving valuable or fragile items.

We arranged our move from Illinois to the UK. The service required us to pack all our belongings into boxes, with the final cost to be determined at the port based on actual freight volume. Initially, we received an inaccurate volume estimate aligned with our budget. The original quote was for 100 cft, but after signing the contract, they suggested aiming for 70 cft. They explained that the freight volume could change at the port once everything was palleted. We carefully packed and measured each box, ensuring the total volume was under 70 cft. However, upon arrival at the port, our belongings measured 160 cft, resulting in an additional $1,000 charge. The company refused to issue a refund, stating that the port's freight volume was the final cost. We found this situation to be unfair and misleading.
I highly recommend this international moving service; their customer support is outstanding, ensuring that every detail is attended to! I was anxious about my move and transporting my belongings, but they delivered! There were no issues or miscommunications, and everything was managed with care! They kept me informed throughout the process, making me much more excited about my decision to relocate. Thank you!!
EXCEPTIONAL! I struggled to find someone to handle my belongings with the utmost care during a long-distance move. When I contacted this moving service, they were not only professional but also perfect in managing fragile items throughout the move.
I had a great overall experience; it could use a bit more coordination, but aside from that, it was a five-star experience at a budget-friendly price. The communication between me and the staff was excellent. They were very respectful and reliable, and the vans were stylish and comfortable with a touch of luxury.
