IVC are cash focused, they dont care about pets

We had our cat and dog under the care of a veterinary practice that was independent until IVC bought them out. The changes that occurred were hugely detrimental to the pets and the practice itself. Before the buy-out the vets at the practice were friendly, family types that clearly cared for their patients and wanted to see each and every one of them walk out the door happy, healthy and with owners that were satisfied and confident of their care. In the odd occasion that a pet might need to be put down it was clear that the vet that had the sad duty to do so was clearly upset.Since the buy-out there have been a raft of changes including two new vets and a business manager appointed to the practice. These three new people were pushing at every opportunity to have us spend money on tests, extra checkups, X-rays and drugs for "just in case" conditions. All of this is simply to drive up the costs and make money for IVC's greedy shareholders. The vets were obviously told not to be as friendly and to upsell at every opportunity, even trying firstly to sell expensive funeral and cremation plans to people whose animals were sick rather than to try and get them healed and home to begin with. One of the original practice owner vets then retired and personally rang a huge number of the owners registered there to express his sadness and apologies as this was not what he was told would happen. Since that time he has joined several other nearby practices as a locum for when their regular staff vets are away as well as offering special care for certain types of dogs and cats with particular needs. What would I therefore say to anyone trying to register a pet with a vet? Always find out if the practice is privately owned and operated, if not then check out which of the big 6 the practice is run by and avoid it like the plague if IVC is mentioned anywhere in the details. They simply don't care about animals, only rinsing their customers for money.

Profit before animal welfare and loyalty.

What was a fabulous practice of vetcare in portlaoise is now owned by this money grabbing ivc evidensia. My fogs and cats will no longer be treated there. Which is a shame after going to them for over 20 years. Ill miss the staff but I won't bring my animals somewhere that priorities profit over animal welfare. Very sad. 😢

A complete rip off of a company who are…

A complete rip off of a company who are not interested in animals at all. Pricing is out of this world. 500 pounds for an ecocardiogram which costs only 200 if you have one at a private clinic in London. This company makes hundreds of millions in profit every year. Even the vets who work for them are embarrassed with the prices they charge. They need to be regulated by the government on the amounts they charge as they are almost bankrupting their customers.

Crossroads Vet High Wycombe &…

Crossroads Vet High Wycombe & Hazlemere: Beware - do not use! After being with the practise for 10yrs unfortunately they now put financial gain over the welfare of patients. My dog was given an expensive rhinoscopy when a swab would have sufficed (only found this out after investigation after my dog had to be put to sleep). Complained and they lied about interactions they had with me, despite me having other witnesses at the time. The practise is part of the IVC Evidensia group - owned by Mars (chocolate brand). They are practising profit over genuine care and welfare of the patient. Look to an independent Vet!#crossroads

IVC Evidensia own Sundean vets ,Lydney. I called on the 3rd Nov 2025 fir an emergency appointment. He was panting, struggling to breath and had a substantial bleeding from nose/mouth. They wouldn't see him untill 10.15 by which time he was dead. No care for animals, purely profit driven. Don't register with any of their practices, they are all the same

Would give no stars if I could

Would give no stars if I could. Since my vet sold his soul to the devil and sold to this company, their care has gone downhill. They failed to communicate properly and only cared about sending me to places I couldnt afford for treatment causing delays which led to the death of my cat. Absolute disgrace.

Hidden costs, sloppy records, and pressure to euthanise

Terrible experience. We took our kitten in and were never given clear prices for treatment, only vague talk. Instead, euthanasia was pushed as the “kind” option. Later we learned kittens his age often survive panleukopenia with proper care — his siblings did at home. We felt pressured into a decision without the full truth. When we got his records, we found details of the diagnosis added long after he was already gone. This company is as corporate, greedy, and soulless as it gets. I will never trust IVC Evidensia again, and neither should anyone else.

Ruined a local vetinary practice

The place went downhill as soon as this animal treatment cult took over. Prices increased dramatically and everything else went down hill. Vets that had worked there for decades.. all gone. Emergency appointment, a hours drive. Book a appointment, get one in 2 weeks because they've no staff left. I've only stayed longer as I have a pet plan, which is almost useless because the nurse couldn't even cope with cutting my dogs nails. I'm only grateful that we have another exceptional vets in the town and many staff have moved to local positions. * In all a vetinary practice that had run successfully for 80+ years ruined by this company with a click of a finger

No compassion or care at all. Just corporate.

In July 2025 we visited Zetland Vets who are owned by a IVC Evidensia with our rabbit who was in GI Stasis. When we got there the experiance at the vets was good and we were assured our bun could be taken home and given care at home as we had caught the GI Stasis early, cisapride suspension was administered along with pain relief at the vets so they could demonstrate how to administer this when we were at home. This was an emergency visit as it was on a Saturday as Zetland is not listed as an exotic vet but said they provide care for rabbits. Within 10 mins of getting home Stewie our rabbit passed away. This was within 30 mins of the medication being administered from the vets. It was then we noticed that the medication that had been administered was labeled out of date by 2 months. I had raised a complaint and this was investigated and I was advised even though THREE different members of staff including a receptionist, Vet and Vet nurse should have checked this label / medication there was a clerical error on their side. They have said it was just mislabled and have apologised for the mistake. However they have no valid proof they did not administer the out of date medication as they have no record for the old medications disposal. I was offered a £65 gesture of goodwill as a result to sign away liability for my pets death. I cannot express enough how much loosing our pet has impacted our lives and the lack of care shown by both Zetland Vets director saying "sometimes rabbits just pass away" over the phone, or the cold emails from IVC Evidensia where they have only looked to protect thier corperate interest. I wouldn't trust this vets to administer appropriate care for your pet, specifically exotics. I was told on that day going to Zetland Vets was the only option as other vets were closed.Currently this is still ongoing with Zetland Vets parent company's indemnity insurers, however if you have a rabbit please go and seek out a rabbit savvy vet, or at least a vet who can administer the correct, in date medication.

Disgusting company ethics

As others have scored, there really should be a minus rating. Disgusting company ethics. Things go wrong, life happens but the strength of a company or individual is in how they handle and resolve those issues.
