Good product, disappointing service

We used Jetbrains for 5 years after which we accidentally bought it for 12 more months. We asked a refund but "refund is only possible within 30 days". Our request was 40 days after the purchase. Very dissapointing.

I really love Intellij Ultimate, but there are issues

I really love so much of the Intellij Ultimate app. It does all sorts of amazing things much better than something like Visual Studio code, and without having to configure a lot of them first. Just works out of the box. However, that comes with a hefty price on disk space and often speed. While it's a fantastic piece of software, it takes up a massive 4GB of disk space and often takes a while to perform certain functions because of its complexity and probably the number of files it has packaged. I wish Intellij would rewrite this using more modern, lightweight code to make it faster and smaller. This has been the case since I started using it in 2014 or so. It's time to change.Also, the documentation is exceedingly complicated, often not-quite-complete, and confusing. It needs to be rewritten by an excellent tech writer who knows how to translate engineer into plain English. So many questions I've had to ask the tech help service that could have been answered with better documentation. Speaking of which, their technical help is top-notch. They always respond within hours, at most 24, and will often solve things the first time. If not, they will continue to work with you as long as it takes to correct whatever issue or question you have. Some of the best tech support I've experienced ever.

abusive company that deletes negative reviews from addon market.and be aware most addons on the market are subscription for "color theme" even the color theme contain other people work.if they allow other selling not OG work then you shouldn't buy anything from this company,the IDE is overrated just overglazed text editor with bult-in automation i just use it because Avalonia addon.oh you use non-commercial license? good job you need be active last 6 month and re-ask to get the licenses every year while others IDE don't have theses stupid rules.

Jetbrains - Masters of Deception

The only thing Jetbrains is good at is false advertisement.Purchased a discounted Rider subscription and the Jetbrains page where the sale took place very clearly showed the discount would continue through yearly renewals, upon renewal time Jetbrains stated the discount isn't perpetual.The perpetual discount is the only reason I purchased Rider (as the software itself is full bugs and inconsistencies so is definitely not worth the full price) now Jetbrains are refusing to refund the original subscription.The customer service team didn't seem to comprehend that their website stated the discount was perpetual no matter how clearly I stated it to them (maybe I should have drawn big lines on the screenshot of the sales page to make it simpler).So in summary I would advice to stay clear of Jetbrains, even disregarding this issue the Jetbrains products I have used (Rider, Intellij, Fleet) are full of bugs and general irritations. Fleet especially, hopefully Jetbrains see it as their future as they will no doubt certainly fail as a company if they do.

Software unusable, zero support, stay away!

I use Rider (for development in C# for the Xamarin and MAUI frameworks). I start by saying that it used to work, with many bugs but it worked (mainly Xamarin development) most of the times. Now the software has become completely unusable, I haven't been able to develop with it for more than 3 months now (despite having opened various tickets, obviously not resolved by support, which nicely ignores you) and I am forced to use Visual Studio for Mac (keep in mind that it will not work with the latest version 2024.x.x). As many users reported, it will drain your pc's memory (I have a Macbook Pro and with Visual Studio for Mac it works even with 6 istances opened with no problem and at least two android emulators).I paid for this software and also a lot considering what it does, I feel betrayed and scammed by this company. If you are considering buying the license to enhance your development experience, stay away from it as much as possible and look somewhere else! P.S. they refuse to refund you, since the period in which you can request a refund lasts only one month, so if you are like me who paid 1 year, you are screwed. Give me back my money or at least the money for the months I did not use the software!

Becoming bug-ridden bloatware

I'm a long time (paying) user of phpStorm and the quality of the product has become worse over the last couple of years. It has become so bloated that it is hardly usable any more.A lot of bugs are never resolved (for instance the 'find in files' does not find everything) and they tend to change the whole product so often to something completely new that you are completely lost in the thousands of settings because everything is changed and on google there is only info about older versions. Also a number of bugs are solved, but more newer bugs emerge.Their code suggestions and code generation always misses the mark, especially for quotes and brackets so it is best turned off. refactoring is a pain, and instead of including a `use` statement they often include the whole path in front of the class. I am considering going to VS code instead.

Great products, exemplary support

JetBrains make great products - PyCharm always works, often when tools like VSCode struggle. Of course, this matters since there is a cost to maintaining the difference. Still, the mark of a great organisation is aftercare. What companies do after they've sold you a product. I'm sure we've all experienced being ghosted after the money is paid. Not JetBrains! I had an account problem, and several people worked tirelessly, responded quickly, and were proactive in solving my problem (and problems are rare, having been a user for several years).Thank you JetBrains, your help has not gone unnoticed.
