Zero star would be more adequate.I’ve spent 7 weeks building my audience, successfully building the funds up, one week to go.Nearly at the finish line which we would have met,Then.4 days ago emails came through stating we’d violated their terms and conditions? And we had to change wording on certain rewards?Bearing in mind the campaign had to be submitted 7 weeks prior for their scrutiny before they’d give permission for if to go live, and at that time they were more than happy with it.,I got the green light,Had the emails reporting the wording come through, so after various email comms back and forth we sorted out what needed doing and we were under way agreeing to new rewards being offered and old ‘offending’ ones deleted,4 days of full on admin, ensued! Then.., the icing on the cake! Today the project was doing well, 65% funded with a week to go and a strong audience on board and they just out of the blue - no warning, no email, no phone call, suspend my campaign.Stating that I’m not the person I claim I am, despite them talking by email to me on numerous occasions, I have a high profile on Google and IMDb! But they can’t even bother to look this up , just an immediate knee jerk suspension of the campaign! Would I recommend this company?Absolutely not!Avoid them like the plague..They’ve jerked around my backers, me and wasted 2 months of my time ..all of which is a suspension based on nothing more than ‘reports’ they’ve received - unfounded obvious malicious ones!
Backed a project and didnt receive the item. kickstarter costumer service either taked 4-6 weeks to even answer and when they do they say to contact the project which is obviously a scammer. unless kickstarter starts to place some garantees as a backer- there will just be more scammers making projects. dont back projects unless you are ok with loosing the money.
If I could give minus 1000 I would. Used to be a good platform but now it’s a scammers paradise. If you’re lucky enough to even get the product it’s nothing like what was advertised and KS will do nothing to get you your money back or get the right product. They simply stop answering your emails. 100% scam. Let the “creators” run with your money and then do nothing to protect the backers. Stay far far away.
Kickstarter is a land of scams. They do not take action even if the project creators are scammers who take the money and disappear. Even though they have all the data and the legal ability to sue the scammers. Lots of my money gone, I will never use kickstarter again.
Kickstarter is a hotbed for scammers with a few honest backers in the mix as rare gems. I have supported projects that have completely ghosted the backers - no product, no updates, no refunds. Other products have arrived but completely misrepresented, such as Vélo luggage which claimed to be of carryon dimensions and which no airline will accept as such. The rare product arrives as represented and promised but it’s not worth the financial risk at this point because Kickstarter has kicked all its professed policies to the curb - be warned: THERE IS NO PROTECTION GIVEN TO YOU THE CONSUMER ON KICKSTARTER!! CAVEAT EMPTOR (Buyer Beware)!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!You are gambling with your hard earned for something that does not exist, on the small possibility that it might, just might, come to fruition. If the product was any good it would already have funding. Wait till the product has been manufactured, and pay a little bit more. Do not give your money to Kickstarter!Tempoflow took hundreds of thousands of pounds, never replied to any correspondence, and disappeared with everyone's money.KICKSTARTER DID NOTHING!They didn't reply to any emails, or support the backers. This is a gamble you should not take. EVER!THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, THEN WASH THEIR HANDS OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY. Have a wonderful day!
I've kickstarted numerous campaigns over the years, but recently got burned by a scammer. Kickstarter was alerted by numerous users, but did absolutely nothing. Just took their cut, and left the users hanging. I am done with Kickstarter. Moving forwards, any crowdfunding project that makes use of this platform will be a hard pass.
Coming from the Storaxa Fail, I can only see Kickstarter as a failed platform. No support, reply or intent in helping the backers.Their policies only care for the projects creators because that's what make them gain their fee. After that, no care for anyone that paid.Never again will I support that platform and will try to make anyone stay away from it.
It is important to realize that Kickstarter is a company that prides itself in taking funds for simply allowing people to sell air. One must realize that Kickstater does nothing to vet projects or enforce any kind of fulfillment. Nothing. So any money one spends to fund a project has every chance of disappearing. That's not to say it will as many projects eventually supply something. But the sole responsibility is with the creator of the project and not with Kickstater. Roll the dice but if the project fails to deliver don't expect Kickstarter to do anything because they won't.
