The Biggest Scam Site On The Internet?

I, like 4,000 others were scammed into backing Vinyl Sonic. A product that had no intention of ever coming to fruition. A total of over $600k was scammed from backers with Kickstarter banking their 15% commission. However when it became clear that the product developers had no intention of producing a product, Kickstarter didn't want to know. When I claimed a chargeback against my bank card, Kickstarter fought the case referring to their terms and conditions as them acting simply as a platform with no contractual liability and that they did not offer refunds. There is a difference between a refund and a chargeback claim.I am one of the lucky ones. I fought their response and successfully claimed a chargeback. Here is the basis on which I won my case:1. Kickstarter will not release the business details of the product developer making it impossible to claim against that company.2. Chargeback can only be against the original company who debited the funds i.e. Kickstarter.3. They have a clause in their terms and conditions with the product developer which states that if a chargeback is successful, they will debit the credit card of the advertiser. In other words, they have a mechanism to recover their losses on a chargeback. This term shows that Kickstarter are fully expecting chargebacks and have included a term to recover the funds for successful chargebacks from the advertiser by debiting the advertiser’s credit card. This is because the only company that chargebacks can be initiated against is Kickstarter themselves. They were the only party to enter into a financial transaction with the buyer and are the only organisation who can recover funds from the original advertiser, as they do not publish developer's details meaning this option is not open to the buyer. When I furnished my bank with this information, my chargeback was upheld and I secured a full refund. Once this happened, Kickstarter removed me as a backer, meaning I could no longer post comments on the product page and explain to others how they could fight Kickstarter's refusal of chargebacks. Very unethical.I hope this can help others who have fallen victim of the numerous scams posted on this site, from which Kickstarter are making a substantial financial gain.

Zero accountability on a platform for criminal (wire) fraud

I've been with Kickstarter almost since it started. As a platform, Kickstarter does not enforce their own rules regarding refunds for failed projects. It has zero customer service and as a business does not seem to care about scams on their platform. As a result, Kickstarter has become a haven for scams and scammers. As Kickstarter profits from scams, they have zero reason to shut them down. At this point, the platform as a business is effectively an accessory to (wire) fraud and product misrepresentation. I have now seen at least two projects fail, with zero accountability or response from Kickstarter. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been scammed alone just from the VinylSonic scam.Do not trust nor use this platform for your projects or to support anyone else's. There is zero accountability and KS profits from criminal scams.

They support scams

They support scams. Vinyl Sonic and Kickstarter have both got their money but we who funded the project are left with nothing. 😡

Kickstarter does not control the…

Kickstarter does not control the scammers who use its platform, and it does not respond to backers and explain if its "rules" have been violated. If you search "A New Vision for Kickstarter to rip you off" on Youtube you can watch a thorough explanation of how they work. This video, which I did not make, corresponds 100% to my experience.

Now it is a place for scams

This used to be a fantastic place for new gadgets. I had several good experiences in the past.Suddenly, we started to have projects that make the required funds and some more and either delay the delivery or just disappear. Storaxa was one of these, they made a lot of money, beyond their expectations, made some more offering addons and upgrades, then started to not fulfil their obligations, and while people started to complain, KS just played dead, send us all their "Not my problem" canned message and that was it.There was a recent instance where the campaign had pictures of a commercial product and it was debunked in no time by the possible backers and finally KS pulled it out. They are now a disservice to crowdfunding and deserve not to make any more money from it.

Scam sice for scammers

Most of the projects are from China, a large part does not communicate after the selection of finance and basic information. I'm guessing that a combination of AI and forethought can generate projects and documentation that look like they work. Kickstarter only selects the frills and does not decide if the projects work. A platform like this is dead.

A great idea but very poorly executed

I find at least on Trustpilot that I don't post reviews unless my experience is either particularly great or severly poor..But Kickstarter deserves another negative review for my experience with more than one project that I've backed. The worst part is that they don't even care to represent you as a backer or resolve any issues you have with fraudelent creators or projects. As a result, I'm tieing up the last my ends with existing projects and deleting the account..

spams and scams

I was flooded with spams and demands for money against pledges. Kickstarter is totally unreliable since backers can cancel their pledges any time during the campaign. It seems to be the new playground for Nigerian scams. Lots of backers are from Lagos.

Breeding Ground for Scammers

L, Kickstarter has become little more than a fertile breeding ground for charlatans who can act with impunity (with Kickstarter promoting, aiding and abetting without any accountability). It is one thing to back a project that fails due to tech or other unforeseen issues (that’s the nature of investment). It’s quite another thing, and absolutely unacceptable, to be defrauded by scammers.Kickstarter needs to be held accountable and should be refunding backers’ money. Kickstarter also needs to bring in the relevant legal authorities to pursue the people behind this scam project. This is a strange platform full of scammers that nobody controls or blocks before they run away with your money. The Creator must be laughing, all the way to the bank, at all the posts with old Kickstarter terms, must figure they really have nothing to worry about.KICKSTARTER NEVER, NEVER give the money back, in the past, in the present and, having good lawyers, neither in the future (when you pledge you must check a cell near a phrase that says that you accept the risk to not receive the object you are pledging).Sadly, Indiegogo has become little more than a fertile breeding ground for charlatans who can act with impunity (with Indiegogo promoting, aiding and abetting without any accountability). It is one thing to back a project that fails due to tech or other unforeseen issues (that’s the nature of investment).
