Kickstarter has 0 integrity and is a compliant thief

I have been with kickstarter for years and at one point I would have given a good review but after being involved with MULTIPLE projects that went belly up and kickstarter did NOTHING to stop or ensure this does not happen. But rest assured that they got paid. There are certainly legit projects but for kickstarter as a company not to have any ownership in the failures really speaks volumes to the integrity of this company. They make at least 20% fees yet upon a scam happens they don’t do ANYTHING, NOTHING! I feel like they are as bad as the people who never produce an item. They stole 20%. Give it back. But alas no so it’s my experience that it not if but when ya get screwed you did with your eyes open. I will no longer support with my time and money

Kickstarter has lost its credibility.

Kickstarter has lost a lot of its original glitter. Including me, many people have not received their pledges while the project owner or Kickstar do not answer our complaint. My last experience is with Wainlux K8 laser engraver. When I did not receive it as per the tracking number given to me, upon following up, Jack, the project owner came back to say that the logistics have lost it because of war while there is no war in the Gulf. Since then, he doesn't answer my emails. I'm giving up on Kickstarter and I hope many sincere project owners will do the same.To ALL buyers/pledgers, our money is not safe with Kickstarter as they don't take responsibility and do not implement measures to protect you.

A platform for scammers

A platform for scammers, where KickStarter just stands around and watches and probably claps.

Scams

So many Kickstarter projects are complete rug pull scams and Kickstarter do nothing but facilitate the scams and take their cut. I'll never back another project again I've lost too much money to this. It's a scandal that they're getting away with this."Game Space: Lift, Pause & Organize your games"

The risk is not just for backers but…

The risk is not just for backers but for creators too. I canceled my project after three days of launching it. I got overwhelmed by Nigerian scammers pretending to be backers or crowdfunding experts. Even got messages from the Kickstarter team referring me to more Nigerian scammers. Scammers impersonating real successful creators etc. This platform is seriously dangerous! Stay away from it! From top to bottom, this is a scam on any side you want to see it. Thank God I was smart enough to spot every single one of them.

Kickstarter Will not help at all!! Terrible company

What a terrible company!! I bought a couple of months ago a rollingfinger for my face. I then was contacted by Peoplepie. I had to give my creditcard figures. Didnt do that but lost the e-mail. Because there was a big amount left to send it. So I tried and contact several times to get in touch with rollingfinger or peoplepie but they di not respond at all. Then I contacted kickstarter for this issue. They tell me that they don’t have information of rollingfinger at all and that I have to try and short it out myself to reach rollingfinger. I replied with that I have tried every e-mail address that I could find but they do not respond. It is my problem according kickstarter. I have to take legal actions myself!!!!! I replied with that I will give a bad review if they do not help me. I e-mails kickstarter again several times but they don’t respond anymore. So a couple of hundred euro’s gone. It is so strange that the cannot give me an e-mail address of the company or phonenumber. Why is that protected? It had been written of my account? I am 2 months busy now with this. I will never ever ever buy something on kickstarter. I have never have a bad review because it can Harm the company but I have no other choice. Thanks kickstarter for helping me (not).

Total scam

They are totally useless. They just collect whatever moneys without any problem and people can get scammed very easily. Stay away!

Appalling - ideal site for scammers

Appalling. Happily allow scam startups to rip people off and provide no support whatsoever. (VinylSonic for example)If I were able to give 0 stars I would do so. Hopefully they will face legal action soon.

Kickstarter and Heisenberg Robotics - Financial Fraud

Mid-2023, myself and 1700 plus backers supported Heisenberg Robotics smart lawn mower on Kickstarter. This project came with a written guarantee stating this product would be delivered. This product was originally scheduled for delivery late-2023, then early 2024. Late-2023 Kickstarter even temporarily suspended Heisenberg due to reported IP issues. Despite 1700+ backers on Kickstarter not receiving this product that Kickstarter had guaranteed delivery (still on KS’s site) - there has been no further updates since Oct. 2023, and no willing refunds. An added insult is Kickstarter continues to report this project as “Successful” on their website. Really, successful that they effectively ripped off 1700+ out of $1,000s.Many of backers are looking at organizing and filing a Class Action Lawsuit against Kickstarter, and many have filed payment disputes with their banks.

Done with Kickstarter

Kickstarter seems to do very little or at least is very ineffectual at vetting projects. When creators abscond with the money, millions sometimes, Kickstarter will do nothing. They point to their terms of service and tell you the money has been released to the creator and you have to contact them. I have lost about $600 on fraudulent projects. I am done with Kickstarter. State AG’s should look at consumer protections for crowdfunding.
