I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Kind Science.
I placed what I believed to be a one-time purchase of a product for around $50. At no point during checkout was it made clear in any obvious way that I was enrolling in a subscription program. Shortly afterward, I was charged $96 and then informed that additional charges totaling several hundred dollars were scheduled.
The subscription terms were buried in fine print and not presented transparently. This feels intentionally deceptive.
When I attempted to cancel, the website made it unnecessarily difficult. You cannot easily adjust or modify the “kit,” and the cancellation process is clearly designed to frustrate customers. Calling customer service was no better — the representative was unhelpful and unwilling to resolve the issue in a reasonable way.
This company appears to rely on misleading marketing and subscription traps rather than earning repeat business honestly. I would strongly advise others to read every line of fine print and think twice before ordering.
Steer clear.
Do not believe the hype. I ordered the Ellen DeGeneres’ Kind Science product. I didn’t know that it was a starter kit and paid $59.95 plus tax. I received the shipment not realizing that it had a hidden subscription associated with it. Later I saw an additional $90 taken out of my bank account for a products that I did not order and did not receive. I sent them an email canceling the subscription right away. I had to go to PayPal in order to get a refund and complain. I also got an email from Kind Science telling me that I owe them $180 for a product that I did not order and I did not receive. Be aware of these products advertised, they have hidden subscriptions. I tried the products that were in the starter kit and they were not that good.
BUYER BEWARE!! Like everyone else is finding out, this is a total scam! Do not sign up for this product, it’s total crap and they will bill you a large amount of money. The only thing worse than the product is the way that customer service treats you! Avoid at all cost!
I strongly advise against this service. Canceling a subscription you weren't even aware of is nearly impossible. I had heard positive remarks about the product, especially its vegan aspect, but it seems they're only interested in making money.
The product failed to address my skin care needs. When I attempted to cancel my subscription, I encountered significant obstacles. I was informed that my dissatisfaction was due to incorrect usage. Additionally, I was charged a fee for cancellation despite not receiving what was promised.
I was enrolled in a program costing nearly $300 for three months without my consent. Despite cancelling, they kept charging my account. Now I have to cover shipping costs to return the product, and I might receive a refund eventually. Very disappointing experience.
My wife ordered a trial package which came. She called and cancelled . The next month we got a shipment, which we refused. The next two months Kind Science continued to make monthly charges on our credit card, even though nothing was shipped. These people are crooks!! DON'T DO BUISNESS WITH THEM.
I ordered the starter package for the 60 dollars. when I hit the confirm purchace I noticed that my old address was on the form. I immediately tried to contact customer service and couldn't get anyone. So I went online and opened an account with KS. There I changed my address to my current address and left 6 requests to customer service to change the address on my order to no avail. My purchase went to my old address and I guess the new owner of that house got a nice gift. I will not buy from this company ever again and I hope those that read this review know that there is no customer service so don't waste your money because if you have a problem it will not be resolved.
I would definitely not recommend this company. I ordered the kit that had an additional $20.00 off. After the purchase I realized I did not receive the $20.00 off. I immediately called customer service and explained the situation and she said she would apply the $20.00 to my next order. I advised her that is not what I wanted. She reluctantly agreed and said could not give me the $20.00 back but she would cancel my order. Tree days later I received an email that my order was on its way. I called customer service again and was told that only my account was cancelled and not my order. What? I said that is not what she told me and not what I reiterated at the end of the conversation. I asked her if I could return the products and if not then I would dispute the charge on my credit card. She said I could return the product. We will see how much of a hassle that will be. Update to come. I am no longer a fan of Ellen for allowing this business to to do these things.
Kind Science uses hard sales tactics. I’m shocked that Ellen D would pressure people this way!! I received the small kit in August. I set my account next order for January 2026 ( 3 payments of $109 in Jan, Feb, March). Today I had an Unauthorized charge on my credit card from Kind Science. I called customer service. She used her script to talk in circles and try to convince me to keep the current order. She asked why I want to cancel the current order. I kept telling her that I did Not place an order! Again told her my account was set to order in January!! I cannot afford this in my budget right now with the US Government shut down. Anyways, That is None of their business. I did not place an order today. Period. Ellen, these practices are unacceptable and I’m disappointed with how you run your business. No longer a fan.
