I bought a lazyboy sofa just over a year ago. I paid 7k for his sofa abd im still paying it off. The heated seats have stopped working and so has the mini fridge. The leather is peeling on a seat that myself and my child never use. On the recliner the foam has flattened and it looks terrible. All these problems appeared 1 year after delivery. I paid over £300 for castelan repairs but they won't fix. What a waste of money. I wish I saw these reviews before I had spent so much money.
I’m writing this on behalf of my mum, who spent an absolute fortune on a La‑Z‑Boy 3‑seater recliner and matching armchair, believing she was investing in a premium, long‑lasting product. Unfortunately, the experience has been the complete opposite. The furniture is only around three years old, used by one person living alone, yet the leather is already showing noticeable wear. Both USB chargers have failed on the armchair and the sofa. Worst of all, the power armchair stopped working entirely after being left in the reclined position.La‑Z‑Boy’s warranty is handled by Castelan Group, and their service has been nothing short of shocking. They were contacted in early November but didn’t bother to come out until late November. All they did was put the chair back into a normal position and then told us it wouldn’t be repaired before Christmas. That meant my mum an elderly woman was left without a working power recliner for over two months.Today (2nd January 2026), Castelan finally emailed to say they’ve now ordered the part. So realistically, you’re looking at nearly three months to resolve even the simplest issue. Completely unacceptable. After this experience, I looked up more reviews and realised this isn’t unusual La‑Z‑Boy and Castelan both seem to have a terrible reputation for customer service and warranty support.Avoid both companies. The products are overpriced, the quality is questionable, and the aftercare is an absolute joke. We will never purchase from La‑Z‑Boy again.
Purchased sofa through sofology. Poor is the only word needed for the quality of this sofa. Paid almost £7k for what should be no more than £1500. Nothing aligns, puckering everywhere, backs dont line up. Buttons for one of the recliners is wedged between 2 seats so only a child can use. Very uncomfortable. Extremely poorly made. Trying to organise a refund through sofology. Never again.

2yr old sofa and chair costing over 5k has not performed and SCS warranty covers nothing. You expect a sofa & chair to last more than 2yrs. This is our 3rd or 4th suite. Won't be buying another. Utterly disappointed and angry
Leather breaking up after 2 yearsPaid almost £3k for a three seater leather recliner. Within 2 years the surface layer has started lifting. Had to pay Layzboy £75 for some dodgy 3rd party company to send a 'technician' to inspect our sofa because Lazboy's 10 year warranty only covered the leather for 1 year! I was told that there was no fault with the leather! So I paid a leather restoration specialist to inspect the sofa. He confirmed that the problem is down to a fault in the leather.
Don't waste your money. They might be a recognisable company name but they make substandard furniture with cheap painted fabric that I wouldn't remotely call leather. Bought a £3000 recliner sofa from ScS 2 years ago and the 'leather' surface is already flaking off. No recourse from insurance or ScS who class it fair wear and tear. Look elsewhere if you want dependable, well made furniture.
Only had our la z boy suite about 3 years and its falling apart already ,what a pile of shit.spent nearly £5000 on it and got no pets children, hardly ever sitting on it due to me and my husband working full time, and when we come home to sit on it and enjoy it ,I get angry about it the fact the leather is super thin and coming apart. And we put a throw over it to hide it.which why would you wanna hide a £5000 suite 🤔 nobody will do anything about it ,have tried everyone and no one interested, and they saying there is nothing wrong with it .SCS dont even sell them anymore and I wounder why as they are complete and utter pile of crap .And we are still paying for this suite aswell .never ever buy one again or recommend to anyone .avoid them at all cost .
AVOID LAZY BOY AT ALL COSTSWhat was supposed to be a dream reclining settee and chair , the model Knoxville power recliner .Purchased after many store visits to SCS in Oldham Lancs , purchased to help me recover from TKR surgery so i could sleep downstairs. now two year old and padding has disentgrated .Respone from SCS , dont sit on it so often .Lazy Boy feedback not interested Emmeria insurance group as SCS Modern day highway robbers

La-Z-Boy UK Ltd was established in January 2017 - a wholly owned subsidiary of La-Z-Boy Incorporated, in the USA.
La-Z-Boy Inc, which has its international headquarters in Monroe, Michigan, has a strong history for producing comfortable and quality products and is a brand that is known throughout the globe.
The furniture company that would later be known as La-Z-Boy was founded in 1927 by American cousins, Edward M Knabusch and Edwin J Shoemaker, who invented the first recliner in 1928. A comfortable concept, the folding wood-slat porch chair followed the contour of a person's body, both sitting and leaning back. Using orange crates to mock-up and refine their idea, the partners invented the reclining mechanism that would sweep the world off its feet.
The chairs were an instant hit - but needed a name. Combining promotion with necessity, the partners held a contest and turned down suggestions including Sit-n-Snooze, Slack-Back and Comfort Carrier before choosing La-Z-Boy as the clear winner.
Over the subsequent decades, La-Z-Boy's product line has grown to include a myriad of pieces and styles, making it the world's best-selling recliner.
La-Z-Boy continues to innovate, building on a unique heritage that has pioneered new developments in the furniture industry.See more
