I called several times last year to cancel my membership and they have a policy that you have to walk in the gym for cancellations and I told them Im far away. Finally they told me I can do it on their website. I have cancelled my membership since December of last year and they are still taking out monthly payments out of my bank.

AVOID THIS FITNESS CLUB!

AVOID THIS FITNESS CLUB! The reasons are as follows: 1. When I first spoke with the salesperson, I was informed that the sauna was being replaced as the current one was out of order. It has now been 10 weeks since I joined, and the sauna is still not functioning, which is unacceptable for a fitness establishment. I used to manage a fitness center with various amenities, and whenever equipment failed, I would promptly arrange repairs. The salesperson seemed to have left shortly after my sign-up, possibly knowing the sauna issue but misleading me to secure a sale. 2. The facility seems to have oversold memberships, making it difficult to access equipment at any time due to the large number of users. 3. I had an incident where another member attempted to take my jacket, which I was carrying while I exercised to avoid using the locker rooms. 4. I prefer not to use the locker rooms because I once forgot my flip-flops and ended up with a wart from the floor. 5. The primary reason I chose this club was for the sauna, which is not available at other nearby gyms. 6. I have since switched to another gym, which offers significantly more equipment and space, making workouts much more manageable. 7. On multiple occasions, I noticed that the gym was not clean, particularly the floors in workout areas. 8. I tripped over the vacuum cord, which was quite long. Thankfully, I managed to regain my balance without injury, which could have led to serious consequences. Other gyms I’ve attended utilized cordless vacuums for safety and efficiency. 9. I previously attempted to contact management but received no response for several days, which is not acceptable for a reputable organization. When I finally spoke to someone, they were polite but unable to provide satisfactory answers regarding the sauna. 10. Due to the ongoing sauna issue, I have decided to leave this gym and will not consider returning, resulting in a significant loss of potential revenue for them. 11. The spin bikes are outdated, and the classes offered are minimal. 12. This gym feels like a relic from the past, with aggressive sales tactics reminiscent of outdated car dealerships. 13. Upon joining, I was informed that I had paid for an extra month, which feels like a deceptive practice. This kind of approach is reminiscent of disreputable sales tactics from the past.

DO NOT JOIN LA FITNESS!!!

DO NOT JOIN LA FITNESS!!!The reason are as follows:1. When I initially talked to my salesperson he told me that the club was getting a red light sauna as the current one was not working, I assumed it would be soon but the sauna has not worked in 10 weeks since I have been a member which is absurd/ridiculous for a fitness club...I used to own a fitness club with indoor tennis, large fitness room, (at the time one of the biggest in upstate N.Y.), aerobics, pro shop, nice locker rooms with a sauna...if the sauna ever broke down which happened frequently as members would pour water on the coils and short circuit them I would FedEx the appropriate parts and get it fixed ASAP...plus the salesperson was not working there days after I joined so he probably knew that and said anything to sell a membership and assuming get a commission 2. In my opinion the club is oversold with memberships as no matter what time I come in there to work out it's tough getting on any piece of equipment as there's so many people working out3. I had a member try to walk out with my jacket which I moved around with me as I worked out as didn't want to use your locker rooms4. I don't want to use your locker room as the one day I forgot my flip flops and I got a wart on the bottom of my foot from your locker room floor5. The main reason I joined your club is that you had a sauna versus Planet Fitness which did not 6. I have since joined Planet Fitness, both your club and PF are about the same distance and time from my house on East Ave and PF has probably 3x the equipment and space of your club, better machines with at least 2 of every plate loaded machine which usually means no waiting for a machine to work out on + they have more free weights than yours7. Numerous times your club was dirty, noticeably the floors on the fitness areas8. I tripped over your vacuum cord which has a 30-40' extension cord...I'm almost 77 and luckily I caught myself and didn't fall which could have been a lawsuit...I own a 4,000 sq. ft. home with 3 stories, (1875 house), and I have the same vacuum which is cordless for safety and ease of moving around and the last club I belonged to, (Midtown), had the cordless backpack vacuum so members wouldn't trip over a long cord and for ease of movement and safety and was faster as no cord to deal with...if I can have a cordless one as a homeowner I'm sure a big corporation like LA Fitness can afford one9. I previously emailed the manager or so I thought but it was a generic email to LA Fit on a Friday and she never got back to me, I was told at the front desk that I could email her directly from the web site but it was a common email only...after I complained to her (Abby) at the front desk the next Monday she probably looked for it and got back to me in a day or so after that...I've taught small business administration and entrepreneurship at the college level and waiting 4-5 days to respond to a customer's complaint is not acceptable in a well run company...when I complained to her about the sauna she were cordial but kept giving me the run around about it and when it would be fixed and refused to give me any club credit for lack of services - the sauna - which was the main reason I joined your club10. So I'm leaving LA Fitness and their lack of getting the sauna fixed in 10 weeks means they will lose my membership for many years to come, I've worked out and been an athlete since the 4th grade and will never stop belonging to a gym so LA lost thousands of dollars on my future membership and after the review I post which will be much of the above, you will lose numerous future members and cost the club 10's of thousands of dollars11. The spin bikes are from maybe 2005 at the best and they are the worst spin bikes I have ever used in 25+ years...and they have maybe 2-3 spin classes a week, I only ever saw one12. This "Gym" is like a used car lot from 1970 with sales people having desks to sit you down to hard sell you a membership for a "special deal" if you join that day...lying about anything to sell a membership and have that same slimy feeling of those old time used car sales people13. And when I walked into the club and talked to Abby (East Ave Club in Brighton) I was told that initially I had paid for the first and last month so I have been billed for an extra month upfront so if you want to cancel they get an extra month out of you...what a scam from old time car dealers and scummy salespeople from clubs in the 1970's + 1980's and 1990'sMark McCarthy

Today I went to LA Fitness in Cordova…

Today I went to LA Fitness in Cordova planning to cancel my membership because I honestly wasn’t going as often as I should and felt like it was becoming a waste of money. After speaking with the (AGM)TD, and Ashanti, they helped me realize the importance of keeping my membership. My main concern was continuing to pay monthly when the location felt farther than what worked for me. TD took the time to reach out to upper management and were able to get me grandfathered into a different location while keeping my rate exactly the same. They were extremely nice, friendly, professional, and very helpful. I truly appreciate Ashanti and TD for going the extra mile and working everything out for me.

Unprofessional and Threatening Behavior

LA Fitness ReviewI had one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had at a gym at this LA Fitness location (6501 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale). After seeing an ad for their 3-day pass, I registered online and booked a confirmed appointment for 9 AM. I even received a confirmation text. Because my closest location is closed, I drove over 30 minutes to get here. When I arrived, the associate at the front told me, “There’s no one from sales to activate the pass or show you the club, so we can’t help you.” No apology, no alternative, no solution.I explained that I had a confirmed appointment and had driven a long distance. He just shrugged, clearly not caring. When I said I might have to post my experience publicly, another employee — an older gentleman working there — loudly said, “You should!” in a rude, confrontational tone. When I asked for clarification, he responded, “Do whatever you like.”I calmly asked for his name. He refused, became visibly aggressive, and when I took a photo simply to document who I was speaking to, he escalated into insults and threatening behavior.Nothing justifies a staff member at a gym behaving like this toward a guest who arrived with a confirmed appointment.Between the complete disregard for appointments, the lack of accountability, and the hostile attitude of the employees, I left without being helped and genuinely shocked at how unprofessional this location is run.If this is how potential new members are treated when they walk in the door, I can only imagine what actual members deal with.

THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT!

THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT!I actually would not be surprised if my local LAF (Norwalk, CT) closes soon. My google review as follows:I will preface this review by saying that the facility itself is nice and large, spacious and with tons of good equipment. Also the staff is very friendly and tries to be helpful. However, if you are interested in using the pool and/or whirlpool here, you will probably be very disappointed and aggravated. It's obvious they skimp on maintenance for them, as they are closed/out of operation half the time.I joined this gym when it first opened about 15 years ago, mostly because I like to swim. If another gym a reasonable distance from my home opened up, I would leave this gym in a second.Update (1.20.24)...the pool and whirlpool are STILL closed, having been closed for about a month now. Total joke.Update/2 (11.1.25)...once again the pool has been closed for about 2 weeks. They just don't put any money or effort into maintaining the pool and whirlpool here, as they are often out of order/closed. Bottom line, if you are joining a gym with the intent of swimming as one of your exercises, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere as you will be really aggravated and disappointed with this place.Update/3 (11.16.25)...pool STILL closed. When you ask about when it will open, all you get is rambling BS...just a pathetic joke at this point.Update/4 (12.10.25)....pool STILL closed, with continued BS about opening...when I asked recently they told me there is not even a projected/planned re-opening date...the person said 'corporate' had even canceled the repair order...for whatever reason. Meanwhile, the coached 5-star reviews for the gym continue to appear on Google. I actually wouldn't be surprised if this gym closes completely soon. Unfortunate, since I have been a member for the 17 years that the club has been open.

100 % dissatisfied with customer service and the difficulty of cancelling a contract

I signed up for a personal trainer with a 6 month contract. At signing, I was told I could review my membership anytime although I am committed for the 6 months. I visited the office early November and was given a date 11/25/25 to return to cancel. On that date I returned, I was told that the facility is closing and that a manager would call me to help. I waited 2 days, no calls. I called the local gym I normally attend, I am told, "we are closing this facility, someone by the name of Joey will call you. After about 5 phone calls to the facility with no answer, I decided to visit their website and contact Management. It was 2:25pm, I got recording saying I am calling outside of office hours and I should leave a message. I then decided to send them an email, I discovered that I had to create an account on their site in order to send an email. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE? LA FITNESS ON A SCALE OF 1-10 GETS A 00 FOR MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER. I finally reached out to my trainer, who said she would make contact with management, Joey called an hour later. He had no apologies, and when I outline my difficulty and my opinion to him, he hang up his phone on me. I called him back and he finally cancelled my contract with no refund. LA FITNESS TERRIBLE PLACE TO DO BUSINESS. DO NOT REGISTER YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH THEM.

Low quality and services

I am truly sorry that after years of membership in this complex, I have witnessed a decline in quality and service. During the last session, after exercise, I went to the locker room and saw feces on the floor of the gym. I will definitely follow up with the ministry.
