Floor rotting away because the flooring installation we paid for was not fitted properly. Off cuts used with large gaps . Floor unsafe now. Lillevilla full of excuses and won’t own up to their mistake. I can provide photographs of bad installation and hopes in the floor where it’s rotting away. Would not recommend this company. You don’t see them install the installation so are unaware that anything is wrong because the flooring is put down on top of which should be a fully insulated floor , and it’s only until years later when it starts to rot you are aware of the shoddy workmanship. They cut corners !
It was refreshing to have a fitter who had pride in his work and a close attention to detail, something that seems to be rare these days. So Thankyou to mark for being different to the norm. The cabin itself is very robust and well designed and the only niggle I have is that some of the pre cut lengths were a bit splintery on the ends. Nothing that affects the performance of the cabin, just annoying as it means unsightly ends or more prep before painting.
3 years ago we bought and built ourselves your largest cabin. So we knew we were getting a great product and service when we chose their smallest cabin this time. This time you were able to offer lovely lads to build it for us! They were brilliant and the structure was up in a day.We had the paint delivered a head of the cabin and when we found the pots had leaked Lillevilla Colin made sure the paint company replaced them.My only criticism is that it would be helpful to include primer in the package.
The first visit to White Elm site ensured we made a return a few days later. We were following up a recommendation.being able to see all the buildings constructed and in use was a great assistance to us. Having settled on the 443 the offers were good and friendly with no need for hard bargaining and all questions were answered in a knowledgeable and thorough manner.Follow up phone calls and visit to settle up were also an enjoyable experience, improved by the host environment with it's nursery and excellent cafe.Lead time was good, better than expected.The delivery driver was very accommodating, going to turn truck so loads could be tidily lifted over off the drive itself.Mark the cabin builder is beyond superlative. We have never seen such an efficient and hard worker. Extremely friendly and helpful with advice for care and maintenance.We are glad we followed the recommendations to visit.
A year has just passed since the completion of our log cabin. Foolishly I accepted the free build offer with the cabin which unleashed a disaster. Windows were put in the wrong way round with the in/out label, hinges the wrong way and much more. Eventually the constructors disappeared and left me with a structure not square, floor insulation sits on the concrete base, the double front doors consistently move, eventually can not shut or lock. Rain coming against these doors, the interior floods. Emails of complaints, eventually a very nice young man from The Greenhouse People whom I purchased through arrived, loosened a few screws, gave the building a push, tightened the screws. The doors worked again but not for long. More complaining and zero response from Lillevilla. More flooding on wet days and more door movement. Unable to shut the doors in desperation I turned to an old friend for help. A retired joiner. Endless experience/knowledge with a penchant for wood doors. Immediately identified all sorts of build, quality and design issues with the structure. For the doors he pointed out that as the frame is not fixed to the walls it will always move just by using the doors never mind weather effects. The double doors are heavy. Wooden slats screwed to the wall and frame won't secure the frame. Poorly constructed doors where the panels have grain running in opposite directions. Most importantly he pointed out that the doors bend out of line in the lower section. A short time later my friend had secured the frame in place, the doors have worked perfectly these last 4 months. He also pointed out that with the doors being bent there is still a chance that rain water will penetrate. Not necessarily from the edges but through the interior of the door, past glazing or jointing which will cause internal swelling and movement. No mater how much paint or silicon is applied. The doors need to be changed. These problems have been emailed to both The Greenhouse People and Lillevilla who have done nothing. Not a word. No customer service what so ever. Avoid this company. There are others who do better and have customer service. Be warned. These guys do not deserve the one star necessary to post this.
This is the second time we have purchased a cabin from Lillevilla (we've recently moved, our previous one was still going strong!) and yet again we received excellent customer service throughout. The team are always very responsive to any questions, and the delivery was easy to book, the delivery driver was lovely, and the guys who installed it for us were very hardworking and polite. Can't recommend them highly enough!
