Reacting your account involves navigating a lengthy, unclear checklist of required modifications, with support responses often taking hours or even days. During this time, production applications may be left without email for days, which poses a significant issue if email is critical to operations. The entire experience feels random, sluggish, and unnecessarily complex. While their documentation is good, it doesn't compensate for the absence of clear, personal support when problems arise. Most replies seem automated, making it hard to receive direct answers or prompt assistance. If your application depends on dependable email delivery, be cautious, as a single suspected problem can result in prolonged downtime.
I experienced a lockout after activating 2FA, but the support team managed the situation swiftly and with great professionalism. They confirmed my identity, eliminated the previous 2FA configuration, and ensured I could access my account again without any problems. The process was seamless, transparent, and incredibly helpful from beginning to end.

I’m the founder of an education company that helps entrepreneurs improve execution and focus.After maintaining a clean sending record, Mailgun permanently disabled my account without explanation.Their “Compliance” team refused to share any data, citing internal policy, even though my metrics were well within their published thresholds (0.07% spam rate, 1 complaint every 1,500 emails, which is perfectly acceptable for a new, verified account and below their stated limits). This blanket termination blocked a scheduled product launch and caused measurable financial damage.Worse, their enforcement appears wildly inconsistent, with accounts being banned, unbanned, relimited, or restricted again under shifting, opaque criteria, showing no coherent customer service standard.If you run a legitimate business and value transparency or due process, stay away from Mailgun. The lack of communication, arbitrary decision-making, and disregard for customers’ operations make them unreliable for serious companies.I’ve used hundreds of SaaS tools over the past decade, and I can’t recall a more frustrating and counterproductive experience than trying to make Mailgun work.
How many good things can I say about this company? The dashboard and on-boarding process is very user-friendly. Documentation is robust and support...WOW! I can't think how long it's been since I was truly impressed by a tech company's speed and accuracy of support. Both phone and email support. Super friendly staff who act like they really care that you are a customer. I HIGHLY recommend Mailgun for sending and list validation (super fast)!!
