If you are passionate about music and care about quality output there is no better community to learn the craft. Seriously. I joyned one and a half years ago and don't regret a single day. The mentors and the other students are very open and helpful - it feels like family.
Working with the Reverse Engineer (TRE) course at Mastering.com has been one of the most illuminating experiences I’ve had as a music creator. Through this program, I’ve learned tools and concepts that had eluded me for years as a musician, producer, and mastering engineer. These tools have not only strengthened my own craft but also empowered me to help other musicians reach their goals. If I had to boil it down to one thing I love about TRE, it’s the fact that it stays current. The creators truly keep the course alive. Even when I step away from it to focus on other creative projects, I can come back later and find it updated to reflect the latest changes in operating systems, software, DAWs, and even in philosophy — as the creators evolve as artists themselves.TRE is a course I can continue to engage with for years to come, knowing it will grow alongside the changing landscape of music production. The team at Mastering.com doesn’t just teach — they evolve as both artists and teachers, making this an invaluable resource for any music creator.
Joining TRE is probably my smartest decision in life so far. The mentors and the community are not only incredibly knowledgeable - they are starting to feel like a long lost part of my extended family. The program is the most comprehensive and dynamic curriculum available for audio students. The mentoring is on such a deep and personal level that growth and progress are unavoidable. All this is presented to the sudent in a innovative and bulletproof way. Learning the whole value chain of music production in reverse is a genious move. It truly prompts you to consider objectives before action. 100% satisfied student :)
I came into The Reverse Engineer expecting surface-level content—YouTube-style “tips and tricks,” generic advice, and minimal support. What I got instead was a total game-changer.This program goes deep. The videos break down not just what to do, but how and why. You learn tools like frequency balance, dynamics, tone shaping, and even songwriting and emotional interpretation in a way that actually sticks. More than that, the mentors are incredibly involved—daily Zoom calls with real feedback, real solutions, and real support. They actually take time to hear you out and coach you through the challenges. As an audio engineering student with serious career goals, this program fits perfectly into my path. I want to work in studios, produce for artists, and bring the music I hear in my head to life—The Reverse Engineer is giving me the skills and confidence to do that. What surprised me most? The community. Everyone’s rooting for each other. There’s collaboration, encouragement, and no ego. Just people helping people reach their goals.Compared to YouTube or expensive schools I couldn’t afford, this program is absolutely worth it. It delivers way more than I expected—for a fraction of the cost. This isn’t just an online course. It’s a launchpad. If you’re serious about producing music and want to actually understand what you’re doing, this is where you start.
Working in this program has already been a journey that's been the most helpful experience. Even after self teaching myself for almost 2 decades of music production, I have learned more about the craft of writing and recording music in the first few weeks than I have after years of trying to figure things out myself. The mentor calls are extremely helpful and motivating, and always there whenever I may need them. No time limit helps as there's no pressure to hurry, this is definitely the perfect fit to get legitimate education, but do it by distance.
Within just 6 weeks participating in the Mastering Intensive program I approved several of my skills including, hearing compression, understanding frequencies, less is often more, what impact saturation has and much more. I never learned within such a short amount of time so many things not only for improving my masters, but also how it relates to mixing and music production. Thanks a lot to the team and community of Mastering.com for this great experience. Looking forward to the TRE program.
Mind-bending, very educating and inspiring courses, constantly improving and staying up to date with their content as the time goes by and technologies, tools for music production progress. Additionally to theoretical and practical content, you get the chance to get feedback on your progress and ask questions to their amazing mentors, and to connect with very supportive people from their community.Visited their event in NY recently and loved every bit of it!!
I attended a workshop and was blown away by their philosophy. I wasn't necessarily taught HOW to do things, but rather WHY to do them. Just two days was enough to improve my approach, outlook, and optimism about making great music and I didn't think twice about signing up for their online school. I'm certain they'll get me to where the past decade of experience hasn't.
