I am providing an update on my situation concerning the illegal eviction, tax fraud, and habitability problems at a local hotel.
After submitting a formal Demand Letter and a complaint to the relevant authorities, the management's response has been to ignore legal obligations and evade core concerns. Rather than addressing the serious issues like pest infestations, the unlawful lockout, or the denial of tax exemptions, they are inquiring about the payment source and who I interacted with at the property.
KEY FACTS THEY ARE OVERLOOKING:
72 Days of Tenancy: My continuous stay from September 3 to November 14 granted me full tenant rights as per state law.
ILLEGAL EVICTION: Management attempted to lock me out without following the necessary judicial procedures.
TAX FRAUD: They collected accommodation taxes unlawfully despite my valid tax-exempt status.
I am not engaging in irrelevant discussions. I have set a final deadline for resolution by December 10, 2025, for a full refund plus statutory damages.
If they persist in deflecting, I will proceed with legal action to seek maximum statutory penalties.
To future long-term guests: Be cautious. If a property handles you as a tenant, they may unlawfully deny your tax exemptions and attempt to lock you out without justification.
