Superb customer service. We received our doggo’s script but, unfortunately, the bottle was broken and bottle pieces and pills were loose in packaging. Sent an email to MixLab explaining the sitch, they responded promptly indicating new script on its way and we received new script before ran out of pills. Seamless process from start to finish.

These people are completely unreliable

These people are completely unreliable. Refill processing is a total circus. We just had another incident where we were assured medication would arrive yesterday. We called and they said the lab is backed up and they haven’t even processed our order. We’re now out of a vital medication. Totally unacceptable and an absolute joke of a company.

Incorrect tablet size, shipping delays

Needed a medication compounded into a small tablet for my pet. The tablet I received was larger than the one I got from the vet. I asked Mixlab for a refund or replacement, and they refused. They told me the pill sizing was standard, so I sent them a photo of some other compounded medicine I had from their lab that showed a much smaller tablet.Mixlab said it couldn’t be done with the dose I needed; Mixlab only clarified that after I sent them the photo of a smaller pill they compounded. The only reason I paid 3.5x the price for their compounding was for the size; and they gave me a pill larger than the vet had given me, and refused to replace free of charge. Mixlab said I could pay half the price for a new compounding, which is still 35% more expensive than the vet, and it would take another week for it to arrive.I also had to wait 5 days to receive the medication, with a 1-day delay of their UPS delivery date. This is the second time their delivery estimate arrives one day late.If you are using antibiotics timing is non-negotiable. You are paying a premium for the service and the company does not care if you receive the medication on time. Minor side note, the toys they put in their shipments are not species concordant. So you will get dog toys even if you have a cat. I wish they didn’t send you toys, and that the medication arrived the day they said it would.

Beware of price discrepancies

I had originally ordered a compounded medicine for a pet through my vet’s portal that mixlab fulfilled. As I had a difficult time when I had questions dealing with two different entities (the vet portal and mixlab each had separate customer service contact information) I thought it would be easier just to deal with mixlab directly. It turns out that pricing when you deal with them directly is almost $30 more for the exact same prescription. It’s sad that this company would take advantage of customers like that, as one would think the pricing would be identical, if not cheaper if you cut out the middleman(vet portal). That may be why they’re not upfront with any pricing on their website.

So I actually worked for Mixlab in wisconsin, after they bought the vet pharmacy I worked for. Initially, I was excited to see how they would improve the workplace. Some of the people that came to acclimate my team and I started off pretty friendly, and down to earth.Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before the toxic and ego-driven climate made the workplace an uncomfortable, and often frustrating one. After promising lots of positive change, the co-founder, and director of research pharm-ops terminated a handful of people from our close-knit team, including a pharmacist with nearly a decade of time working at the building. If that had been the worst of it, the rest of our team could have recovered and moved on, but from there we began to endure incessant micro-management, near daily pressures to meet performance metrics, that when asked, would not be elaborated on, as well as being talked down to by the director pharm-ops; the same one that would actually say rude and hurtful things about our team, under the assumption that we couldn’t hear her.To put it bluntly, this company is toxic. The product they deliver may be fine, but the environment they advocate for, and the one they propagate couldn’t be farther apart. There is no heart in the way Mixlab does business, and from the moment they walked in the doors of my previous workplace, they seemed set on uprooting everything that made working there special, while making any issues the problem of the underpaid people working there.They also seem to view advocating for yourself, and the wellbeing of your co-workers as insubordination, and will not hesitate to use the “at will” nature of your employment to keep people in line.Please be weary of this company, and I hope they change their ways, soon.

Best price, fast service, free shipping!

I sent an inquiry about the cost of my dog's very hard-to-fill prescription and they texted me back about it right away. Ordering was super easy, they had the best price of anywhere else I looked, and they offered free next-day shipping. The only issue is my vet couldn't reach anyone live when they called, but they worked it out. Overall this was a great experience and I would recommend giving them a try!
