Gift purchase turned disappointing due to unexpected charges

Bought as a gift on December 2 and opened only on Christmas. The gift giver was taken aback by a charge for a premium subscription, and the company has declined to issue a refund despite the lack of a reasonable trial period, even if it had functioned as promised. A professional IT expert has been unable to make it work; it seems my internet service provider is the issue, which I cannot control. It's being returned!

Frustrating experience with the order

The order unexpectedly included TWO items, and I attempted to cancel right away... only to be completely overlooked. I haven't received any response despite reaching out daily since then. This is genuinely the most disappointing customer service I've encountered. The service is unsatisfactory.

Terrible customer support experience.

The customer service is extremely lacking. They charge for items you didn’t purchase and enroll you in subscriptions with automatic payments without your awareness or approval. I’ve been attempting to cancel my order, but the only assistance available is a bot. Stay away! This has been the worst experience I've had in a long time. There are plenty of alternatives, so do yourself a favor and choose another option.

Unexpected Charges and Poor Support

I was automatically charged $95 for another year of access to the service, and canceling is nearly impossible since there's no contact information in the app. The Account Settings do not provide an option to cancel the charge. It's frustrating trying to figure out how to stop this charge. Additionally, the unit has deteriorated after just a year of use—the landing area for birds has been damaged by squirrels, rendering it practically useless as they can't land, and adding new seed just results in it falling out. Moreover, there's no adequate support within the app to help with these hardware problems, just a FAQ page on a CRM they utilize. This level of customer service is disappointing for a product that isn't essential.

This service appears questionable.

This service appears questionable. I was charged $19.99 for a gift bag I didn’t order, and upon discovering a $26 shipping fee, I attempted to cancel my order via chat. The chatbot informed me that an agent would email me soon. Two hours passed with no response, and there was no acknowledgment of the chat. When I reached out directly to the support team, I received an auto-reply directing me back to the chatbot for assistance. This has been a very confusing experience, and my trust in this service is diminishing. I am now seeking a full refund and have contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. UPDATE: The service has stated they will refund me for the gift bag I didn’t order, but that is inadequate. I requested a refund for the entire order, which they are ignoring. I will provide documentation of my request for the full refund made shortly after placing the order to support my dispute with my credit card company. Additionally, I have not received any email confirming that the product has been shipped or a tracking number. Given that I requested the full refund yesterday, I expected a prompt response. I see in other reviews that I am not alone in experiencing unaddressed cancellation requests.

Great product despite communication issues

I’m giving this 4 stars because the communication with the company during shipping wasn’t ideal. I often wasn’t aware of my package's location or estimated arrival time, which was somewhat frustrating. However, the product itself is fantastic. The quality is excellent, and it meets all my expectations. I’m really looking forward to gifting it to my mom for Christmas — I know she’ll love it. Overall, I’m very pleased with the purchase, despite the communication challenges.

Still waiting for my bird buddy

I haven't received my bird buddy yet - can't wait for it to break down. So far, I feel tricked into a $20 gift bag and a $100 yearly service subscription. They didn't even mention these charges - just added them to my cart. Deceptive practices.

Frustrating Experience with Unwanted Charges

I was looking to get a bird companion for my mother and went through the checkout process. When I clicked 'add credit card', the order was placed immediately, without the usual review step. I later realized that the company had added a premium subscription for $100, a $25 shipping fee, and a $20 gift wrap option to my order without my consent. I requested to cancel the order, and noticed that my credit card information was saved on the site. When I tried to delete my card, I was informed I couldn't because it was linked to a subscription I didn't knowingly sign up for. They refused to remove my credit card details. A few days later, I received an update about my order. Despite my cancellation request, they did not cancel it. They removed the gift wrap and subscription, but are still sending me a bird companion I don’t want and charging for shipping. I am extremely frustrated with their service.
