Disappointing experience with the repair service

I arranged for a technician to fix my washing machine. He arrived and assessed it for only 10 minutes before stating that a repair wasn't possible, yet he still charged me £70. I won't be using this service again and will seek a local independent repair option next time. The technician seemed genuinely remorseful, but he mentioned that the company still required the £70 payment.

Misdiagnosis and Poor Support Experience

The fault was misdiagnosed (we eventually had to call in a third-party engineer), and we were told by the service that the fridge was beyond repair. They subcontract their work, which means when issues arise, they take no responsibility, leaving you to deal with the subcontractor for a response. We were promised a refund within 3 to 5 days, but when it didn't arrive, we had to follow up—10 days later. I'm fairly certain that if we hadn't checked and pursued it, the refund wouldn't have happened. Communication from the subcontractor was terrible. The takeaway is that trying to save on the call-out fee is not worth the trouble with this service and their subcontractors.

Overall positive experience with a skilled technician, but the repair took seven days to finish. I also found the cost of the part to be quite high; even though it was an authentic product, nearly £70 for a small thermostat seems excessive when similar ones can be found online for around £20.

The experience was incredibly smooth and efficient. I made a booking the day before, and the next day, a representative arrived right on time with a friendly demeanor. The booking system was easy followed by a direct phone call from the repairman to fix an exact time window for the repair. Cheerful and careful while doing the work. Made sure I was happy with the appliance was working properly before he left.
