I assist my senior relatives with their benefits. To enhance their benefits and simplify their routine, we decided to order a produce box for the first time this month, as they enrolled last December. It only arrived today! The box has a strong odor of spoiled produce. While it is meant to contain both fruits and vegetables, it falls short. They were charged $60, and here’s what was included: 3 medium carrots, 1 damaged medium green bell pepper, 2 mushy brownish medium green limes, 1 medium jalapeño, 2 large russet potatoes, 2 soft small cucumbers, 2 medium brown onions with spots, 2 medium soft roma tomatoes, and 1 small avocado that is nearly liquid due to its softness (I wish I were exaggerating).
Is this for real? It feels like theft. The process to obtain items is unnecessarily complicated, especially for older individuals trying to use their benefits. The confusion over eligible products discourages many from participating. To make matters worse, the platform offers items at prices that are more than double their fair market value. This exploitation of vulnerable people is truly unacceptable.
Are you serious? This feels like blatant theft. It’s intentionally difficult to find items in the store, making it hard for older individuals to use their benefits. Many people give up due to the confusion over eligible items. The site accepts benefits, but the prices are often more than double their fair market value. This can't be a mistake; it's truly disgraceful. Taking advantage of the elderly is unacceptable.
It’s unfortunate when you need assistance and the business owners show little concern for customer satisfaction. I spoke to three different representatives, but only one genuinely tried to help, yet the issue remains unresolved. Even that person couldn't determine the problem despite her efforts. Their phone system leads you in circles, and they often redirect you to the insurance company when it’s their responsibility to address the issue. The numerous negative reviews reflect their indifference.
I ordered a reaching aid device on 12/5, but on 12/8, I received three cans of a fiber supplement along with the receipt for the device. I called to explain the mix-up, but my request for a reorder was denied because they claimed I received the package. I sent pictures of the fiber supplement and the receipt, but the issue remains unresolved. I've spoken to five different representatives, and each provided different instructions and answers! Avoid this place if you can; this isn't the first time I've received the wrong items. While denials take a day, approvals for replacements take weeks.
This company has a horrible system, and their website is often down. Currently, I can only view transactions from the last 30 days. When I call for assistance, they apologize for the inconvenience but fail to fix the issues. They have an app that shows approved items, but no matter which approved store I try, my card gets denied for basic necessities.
Nations Benefits should be regulated like food assistance programs, allowing use at any grocery store. One retailer they partner with is a major chain, but they don’t stock healthy options. I inquired about unsalted peanuts and was told they don’t carry them. It seems like Nations Benefits has a deal with major retailers, neglecting others and forcing those seeking healthy options to pay out of pocket when funds are available from insurance.
No matter how you look at Nations Benefits, it’s a negative experience. The website is terrible, food choices are limited, and prices are exorbitant. If you can manage to get to a store, the card often doesn't work for basic items like meat and bread. The prepared meals are subpar. For those needing this benefit due to health issues or mobility challenges, the feeling of being overcharged is disheartening.
I tried to use the OTC card at a major retailer, with over $250 worth of items pre-verified by the app. However, my card was denied multiple times at checkout. When I contacted customer service, they informed me there was a problem with that retailer effective October 25th, but I received no prior notice.
The utilities benefit worked smoothly, but I missed out on a quarterly benefit by just one day due to their timing. The OTC process is frustrating, especially with inflated prices in the catalog. Many items I tried to purchase were denied despite being confirmed as eligible. My advice to the company: find a new partner if they can't properly classify OTC products and stop overcharging in your catalogs!
