This is the third lender to service my mortgage. I haven’t had any issues paying online or via phone. Escrow changes are clearly communicated both via snail mail and within the app.
Newrez LLC says they are a mortgage company but also list as a collection agency. Not sure how that is even legal. I have had numerous issues with this company. They do not talk with in there own departments especially on the Escrow department. Supervisors/ managers can not even discuss issues with them so defiantly not the customer. They continually get my escrow adjustments wrong causing me to be short at the end of the year having to make extra payments even after I informed them of the error early in the year. So they are wanting me to make a large payment of over $500 into my escrow and increase my monthly payment by $83 a month. This would leave over $900 left in my escrow at the end of the year. I offered to make a payment of over $600 and be able to keep my payments the same and they refused to work with me. When you submit request to them the way they tell you. Than they never respond to you to follow up or close it out.
In December, I made three payments: one for December, one for January, and one for February, all on different days. However, the payment for February was returned due to insufficient funds, and they withdrew the amount again, taking $95.00 and applying the rest of my February payment to principal and escrow. Upon contacting them, I was instructed to pay the $95 NSF fee, and they assured me that the full February mortgage payment would be applied afterward. They mentioned it would take 24 hours and that a note was made to reflect my request. After 48 hours, I followed up, but nothing had changed. They had instead applied the $95 to principal. The new representative informed me that a request needed to be sent to apply it to NSF, which would take another 24 hours. This whole situation began on January 7, and as I write this on January 21, two weeks have passed with no resolution. This is unacceptable, and I shouldn't have to monitor these companies. They need to fulfill reasonable customer requests promptly. Consider a company that values its customer relationships more.
The website is frequently down, making it difficult to pay my mortgages as I encounter multiple error messages. I find myself waiting at the computer for the site to come back online. I've never faced this problem with any other mortgage servicing provider. It has been a frustrating experience.
This has been the most frustrating mortgage service I have encountered in my five mortgage experiences. Their customer support is incredibly lacking online, and obtaining any answers is nearly impossible. I haven't received a statement in three months, and I have overpaid fees amounting to several hundreds of dollars, which they hold for a year without adjusting payments accordingly. Good luck trying to reach their customer service.
I have serious doubts about the mortgage servicing company and its practices. Since September 2024, I've been trying to resolve an issue regarding my mortgage, as they claim I am one month behind. They even reported me to collections. I had to reach out to all credit bureaus myself and provide proof that I am not behind on my payments. After more than a year, they still insist I owe money, yet they haven't sent me to collections, which is absurd. On December 31st, 2024, I spent over an hour with one of their representatives, who instructed me to pay $472.88 to update my mortgage status, but no action was taken. My lawyer sent a certified letter to address this issue, which they ignored despite receiving my proof of payments. After more than six months, I continue to receive delinquency notices. Recently, I sent another certified letter with additional documentation, but again, nothing has changed. I will continue to pursue this matter until they resolve it. I strongly advise others to avoid this company. It's disappointing.
I am attempting to pay off my mortgage, but the process is incredibly convoluted. I was repeatedly informed that they won't allow online payments once I've settled 95% of my loan. After reaching that point, they require a certified check or a wire transfer, which is absurd.
