Next Door is without a doubt the worst site on the entire internet. There are a lot of complaints of Nextdoor having a left wing bias which could be true for some people. I am a Liberal and was banned within a month of joining in one city and a year later when I moved to another city and tried again . . . I was banned permanently within two months for expressing my views and I was in no way disrespectful. The site is moderated by neighbors and if they don't like you, they flag everything you post and if there is enough flags, the higher ups who ban people, just ban you. Not a suspension, just permanent ban. They keep all your information but you cannot see it or access it. However they do not delete it either. It is a Data Mining site that could care less about its users once it has the user's personal data. They even ask for a Government ID which no other site does and they falsely claim it is to keep bots or people that are not local away. This is a lie in my experience. Stay away from Nextdoor
I've been targeted by nextdoor moderators. After just coming back from a 30 day suspension for made up reasons of breaking guidelines, Monday after the Super Bowl, there was a discussion about the half-time show. I commented that I didn't like it and I switched to the alternate show by TPUSA, and liked it much better, I was then met with a barrage of hate filled, name calling, insulting. and condescending comments, one of the people involved in that, had moderator next to her name. Now being tired of having just about every comment I make, reported and removed, and after numerous suspensions, I decided to give a little taste of their own medicine, so I went through the post and reported every comment that contained bullying, offensive name calling, disrespect, and condescending remarks, only to find out the next morning, that my account had been indefinitely suspended for breaking guidelines, now talk about being railroaded, this is a perfect example. I will say that I am conservative, and widely known because I belong to a private group that's conservative, and anyone can see that by checking my profile, all of my troubles with suspensions started after joining the group. I guess there's nothing I can do about it, there's no one I can call or email about this, it's like the inmates are running the asylum!
I joined Nextdoor in Woodland Hills, California in July of 2025. In that short time. I was banned for a week, then banned for a month, all having to do with Trump. I was permanently banned for the following comment. Please tell me if I deserve to be banned for this comment.
A woman named Tracy posted the following,
"My least favorite thing about this new form of politics is the drive to divide. It seems to be crucial to one party to smash their beliefs into other people’s faces. I have never seen such hostile, offensive and self righteous behavior in my life! If one doesn’t see the same political beliefs they are deemed extremists and become mortal enemies. My neighbors are not my enemies. I will support my beliefs but continue to research other points of view. We all have the right to peacefully protest without facing violent reactions from the other side. Don’t mindlessly follow the pressure to divide. Even if we don’t agree, we are neighbors. Please don’t forget that."
"The reason you have never seen anything like this before is because the Republican Party has been hijacked by MAGA who chose to elect the most divisive, violent, unethical, morally bankrupt man that ever walked the Earth. Trump is a Sociopath and Sociopaths always turn their victim into the culprit. So the crazy leftist liberals are labeled Domestic Terrorists while he pardons the actual Domestic Terrorists of January 6th and they are his ICE Brigade, loyal to him."
A woman named Becky commented, "Beatrice, you don't think right" I looked at her page and saw she was a reviewer and I immediately took down the comment.
Within an hour, I was permanently banned.
If I could give a negative star I would. Bunch of biased moderation. If it doesnt meet their views its deleted. They claim yiu break a rule but dang near every post is broke. They dont follow their own guidelines. Also made up with a bunch of bullies who If you dont like something just report on nonsense alone. And their own team who review these posts break the rules more than it can count. Hahha sensitive snowflakes here
Trash app that panders to ‘I have nothing better to do but sit around and play liberal loudmouth Karen’ trash. Spammed with ads, nobody is remotely interested in giving local advice/recommendations/experiences whatsoever. It doesn’t take someone with more than two working brain cell to see- comment and post deletions/suspensions/bans are politically motivated, and I’m sure depending on where you’re located.. it leans completely one way or another. Absolutely useless.
This platform is entirely corrupt from top to bottom. They employ community moderators who misuse their power, sharing personal information and favoring certain users. Those in power enjoy banning others and allow their favorites to act without consequences while punishing those they dislike. Any comments or posts that challenge this are hidden under vague guidelines, and attempting to address these issues can lead to being kicked out. Your personal information is not secure, and there are constant reports against anyone trying to expose the dishonest practices. The system protects the wrongdoers.
I shared my art, and it was removed by a moderator. Even a song I created was taken down. Friends on the platform reached out because many avoid posting due to harsh moderation. I'm considering moving my groups elsewhere and limiting my activity here. This excessive control feels like censorship, which is disheartening given the platform's potential. I regret leaving, but I must. I rate it one star, joining many others who feel the same. The platform needs significant improvement! Update: After a similar complaint, I was banned. I'm done with this poorly managed site.
As a licensed contractor, I have three business accounts and have paid for advertising for years. I could promote my businesses a few times a week. However, after I expressed my opinion on a political post, my account was suspended for five days. I'm done with this platform.
I shared my laser art, which I wasn't even selling, and it was removed by a moderator. Even a Christmas song I posted was taken down. New friends on the platform had to message me since many avoid interaction due to the risk of bans. I'm planning to move my groups to another platform because the moderation is excessive and feels stifling. It's a shame, as the concept is good, but the overreach is frustrating. I rate it one star, like many others. Update: After another user mentioned similar issues, I was banned. I'm leaving and won't return.
