A big thank you to my editor, proof reader and publisher, for their crucial roles in my project. When I began writing in my journal about two years ago, I was often interrupted by my puppy's antics! I hybrid-published two books, with Olympia publishers and I could not be more satisfied if I tried. I have a few self-published books on KDP but nobody went out of their way to help me as the staff at Olympia do. There were alot of periods of time when the author (me) had to just wait in a circling pattern as things got done and everytime this happened someone from Olympia would answer with a reassuring voice that all will be well and just to be patient. I am currently about to sign on a new book which hopefully Olympia will publish and I am sure it will also be treated with the respect the first book got. I would suggest (something I really only realized at the end of the process) that one should make a list before starting the book and write down the names of the person with whom you had contact and the date and time of the mail as there is alot of back and forth and it's easy to lost the thread you're talking on. I truly am a happy satisfied customer and having the process go so smoothly makes me sort of 'not care' as much if i sell a few or a lot of books. Like most things in life it's not about the destination it's about the journey and this was a great one. Thank you to Olympia (on purpose I am not mentioning names as there is always someone behind the scenes and I don't want anyone to be left out). Good LUck !!
This company is very slowto reply to emails or phone calls as my son has been trying to speak to someone for over 4 months and all we get is "oh the manager us in meeting and will ring you back", but still had to chase up need to do much better.
They will make all sorts of promises, they will take your money, and they WILL publish your book. But they will not professionally edit it, and they will do the absolute minimum to promote and market it. In actual fact YOU will do all the work, and they will give you nothing. My advice to you is this: SELF PUBLISH. Use your money to secure professional editing from any of the many legitimate editors you can find online, people with genuine testimonials. As for cover creation, ebook and paperback publushing, you can pay for help with these things too. Better still, learn to do your own. I did. I took my books away from olympia, gave them new covers and self-published. I'm in control now, and I'm very happy.Below, Olympia respond. They say proofreading is something that happens throughout. It doesn't. It happens ONCE. At the start. After that you are on your own. Their claims regarding editing and marketing are nothing but spin. Self-publish. The big brand publishing industry is skewed for the very few. Even if you pay for professional services for cover art, editing etc, you will still save money compared to these and similar pay to publish outfits, and you'll receive the royalties due month to month. The self-publishing industry is friendly and booming. For every title published by a traditional, there are around 6 published by their authors. You can do it too. Good luck ❤️
