Typical Spanish "logic", no response, and if you get response, a 2-year old would have a better answer. Oh wait, Santander at work. 2026 and these muppets are living in the stone ages. I will revise my opinion to 3 stars, their communication between English and Spanish departments is not good, and if you send an email to Ayuda us is the Spanish and and you never receive a reply. After placing this review I was contacted a lovely young woman from the English side and she eventually sorted it. The fact that I had to open a current account to have a savings account was never made plain. The T &Cs are in Spanish. I have applied to Openbank.es for a savings account and have never in my 55years + of using computers and online banking (for both business and private ) encountered such an inefficient, waste of time and ridiculous bank. All I want is to open a savings account I have received at least 15 emails asking me to validate which I have done numerous times so after numerous unanswered emails( except for ANOTHER validation email) and useless conversations with helpline I had a conversation with one lady who went to validate my account by a transfer and certificate of account ownership - bearing in mind that I had sent them at least 8 online video validations that I know they could see but always one thing not correct. The lady accepted all my paperwork - small money transfer, copies of both sides of my TIE and certificate of account ownership and said she would pass it to the relevant department for acceptance on Friday? well within the last few days! Bearing in mind I am an ex Santander.es customer of many years, Santander Int account before that Santander uk all cancelled for legitimate reasons as I received great service from the Spanish end) Since then I have received another 2 emails today requesting validation by 21st January!! I just want them to return my money and forget my application as I must have spent days of accumulated time trying to do this. I rang help today and was left waiting for 5 minutes + if you try the Spanish line you just get rude Spanish people telling you to ring back in a few days not giving you the dedicated telephone number
Tried to open an account twice. Met with nothing but technical issues, bugs, promised call backs and ultimately silence letting the application expire both times. An absolute joke of a bank with terrible customer service. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do - you'd think they would want new customers but they dont care
Same Problem as other users. They dont respond in English and my New Card the send me i can not use from the beginning even after i activated it! They also charged monthly fee for my methal card twice and dont pay it back, but they block my metal card for not paying the fee wich they charged twice!Also if you receive your salary and you have actually no money left in your bank, they only book your money daily at 1730 in the evening. So if you need to do things like buy grocerys before 1730 there is no chance to do it, while other bank customers from different banks already received their money, because openbanks system hold our salary money until 1730!!
Thank you, openbank, you have finally given me the right phone numbers or English client service - problem is solved: Openbank Espana client service works only per phone- and only in Spanisch. Written questions per mail are not answered at all. No service in English or French available. Because of the switch of openbank to Spain my account was blocked for three weeks, my debitcard is still blocked after seven (!) weeks. When I first complained on trustpilot they promised to fix it but they did not. Will close my account now.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Openbank. My account was suddenly blocked without any prior notice, explanation, or warning, leaving me unable to access my own funds. To make matters worse, the system would not allow me to reset my password, and no customer service representative was able to help.I attempted to contact the call centre multiple times, but there was no English-speaking support available, which made resolving the issue impossible. For an international digital bank, this level of service is unacceptable.Being denied access to my money and receiving no communication from the bank is a serious failure in customer care and transparency. Due to the poor treatment and lack of support, I have filed a formal complaint with the Bank of Spain (Banco de España).I strongly advise others to think carefully before trusting Openbank with their funds. My experience has been stressful, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing.
I have never known how difficult it was to open or register with a company as openbankTheir process is confusing. They ask for your passport number and or, Spanish ID, then they ask you to take a photo of your document but it’s not clear which one. Then they ask you to take a “video” selfie. What they mean is a “photo” selfie. If you make the wrong choice, you’re blocked.Having tried to do the process and failed, I was blocked and told to contact the helpline, via email. I did that but have they responded, absolutely not.. I have given
