This is my experience: i became Patron of a creator, after some weeks this creator deleted everything from his patreon's page and he disappeared, scamming more than 50 person. It was a scam..Patreon.com doesn't support you at all if u get scammed via their platform. I wrote to the support and they answered asking me to fill a form, which i filled, warning them about the scammer page and asking for refund. After some day the same guy who asked me to fill the form, answered via mail asking me to FILL THE FORM, like in a loop... What a joke!All they did is deleting the creator page, but when i started to ask for refund, they stopped replying to my emails. I also opened a paypal dispute but of course they showed legal agreements and i lost the dispute, becouse they know well how to protect themself from any legal issue. SO IF YOU GET SCAMMED ON PATREON , YOU LOSE YOUR MONEY and they do NOTHING to help or stick up for you. All they care is getting and making money.AVOID PATRON!
Patreon stole my money. I unsubscribed from a creator because whenever I pause the podcast patreon automatically rewinds 10 minutes (so it is unusable) and patreon stole money from me and I can't even use that money to listen to another podcast. Plus they just ban podcasts they don't like, so don't expect to be treated like a valued customer if you sign up to Patreon.
they call charitable donations for server upkeep a digital service and illegally charge vat update to reply this issue was raised with them years ago they have made no attempt to try and fix charitable donations which is allowed for under eu law,what ya gonna do on brexit hehe? uk law most certainly does allow vat exemption
Instantly after signing up, I get an automated email that my account "has been suspended and is pending removal for suspicious activity" along with an email address to their "Trust and Safety" department that when followed is "Unable to connect". Apparently the link goes nowhere. I am unable to support my creator, or even engage in any activity, or even contact Patreon for help. What an awful website, completely fails in all aspects.

I was a member of Patreon with over $800 in funding for other creators ans had established a page. Patreon cancelled my account after I cancelled a $450 subscription I no longer wanted. Unlike most other former Patreon clients I understand that if you withdraw from Patreon they can use your material forever. However if Patreon cancels your account they have initiated withdrawal from the agreement you signed (by using their service) and they have no rights to use or store your material. When they cancel your account simply send a reply to them in the language of a cease and desist order from using images or likeness of your copyrighted works unless they choose to pay royalties and give them an amount they must pay for usage. They will erase all data since you are giving them the option to use it with royalties paid to you the courts will state fair usage laws instead of their agreement which they have withdrawn from if they cancel your account.Always pay through paypal to them. Or cancel your credit card. Simply go to account settings and turn of payment permissions for Patreon.Patreon works like a pimp. It takes the work of the creators and uses a percentage system. Jusy use ko-fi.com guys. It looks better and for $50 a year its overall cheaper if you just make $36 a month due to Patreon's fee structure at the level where you can make tiers.
I had been a patreon for a creator and it has been a year since I cannot login to my account. They keep charging my credit card, and even though I open tickets, noone helps... The system wont allow me to login but it charges me! They basically steal from me for over a year now!
