I'm a simple person. I see a creator that I want to help and I donate. The problem is, patreon consistently bans my account and talking to someone about it is a grueling task restricted only to email.. When you do get a response a week later, customer service won't tell you the issue and they open your account only for the next arbitrary ban to cut you off from the content you paid for. This is the worst CS I've experienced and they aren't the least bit helpful or apologetic. I don't want to leave the people that I'm subscribed to; however, this platform is corrupt.
Not trustable. I had a page on patreon.com with near 200 patrons and they simple banned me in 1 day removing my main source of income! It took me years to reach that audience, and they removed all this from me in just 1 day. I have some friends with audience there that got their page banned too. If your content is adult (+18) you will be banned from Patreon soon or later, or they will come to you and ask you how you should create your content, how your history should be.They banned a friend too, he had near 3000 patrons and lost everything in just 1 day.Never trust your income in Patreon, they treat their users like numbers, their customer support is awful too, everytime I tried to contact them they never reply or reply after 1 or 2 weeks with automated replies.
Scam company, avoid at all costs. Was charged twice for one month and they try to justify this with scripts. They try and make you feel bad by messaging the person you are supporting for a refund, as that’s the only way to get your money back! What a great way to double up your revenue!! Scammers!!!
I joined Patreon on 29th January to try it out for a month to see if if it was for me.My first charge went through then they tried to charge me for the next month on the first 1st February.I subscribe to a lot of monthly services such as Netflix and VPN providers etc and I have never come upon this practice before, the month always starts from whatever date I sign up.If this is their policy I believe this should be displayed in bold on the signup page before you pay as I would never have signed up on that date knowing I would have to pay again in two days time. This is disappointing as I was looking forward to interacting with the person I subscribed to but I have now cancelled.
patreon has to be the most poorly designed website ive ever seen. whether im on a phone or my computer the website is barely able to load a list of podcast episodes. if i go to view older casts and hit the load more button the website usually just freezes or sits and tries to load indefinitely..i never have this problem with spotify or any other streaming service...the only reason i stay is because its the only place i can get the original content provided by artists....patreon needs to get their act together
1 star is too generous. Patreon's customer service is awful all of the time. Examples:a) can only contact them by submitting an online eticket.b) 3rd January ticket, got a standard "we love ya" proforma generic interim response soon after. 15th now, no response. Half the month gone, no access to services I paid for on 1st.c) then they "disabled my account", without notice.d) their online support FAQ is clumsy, vague and inept. My experience is that their motto is "say all the right words, take no action and deflect all responsibility onto either the patron or the customer.e) staff are arrogant, dismissive and do not consider the context of the issue. They want to paste in a generic paragraph that in effect says "not our problem, you sort it out".f) More etickets do not help. Explaining that being charged $300 for the second highest tier level and then receiving the lowest tier level doesn't warrant any support, action or investigation on their part. g) It has been the most frustrating online experience ever. Patreon are arrogant, unhelpful and will not take any reasonable action to right their wrongs.h) Patreon charges a fee to be a medium between patron and consumer. They refuse to own that any interfacing issues are likely to be in their domain of responsibility. There is no judgement here about patrons who are also not benefiting when consumers leave patreon frustrated because of asinine, inane and inept customer service policies, culture and procedures.PS Your response to the above is another perfect example of pathetic words and not actions. Specifically:- lot of words of good intent, nothing tangible though- fictional excuses, blaming others. Patreon never asked for additional information, they only gave additional excuses. Long long bow on that.- Evidently taking on board feedback and sharing with the team is a waste of time, because Patreon gets worse. No improvement, only more dogma and failure to listen and learn.
If you started and paid for your membership on the 31st of the month, you'd immediately be charged the day after for another month of service. Virtually no other business has this payment model and is designed to give you less value for your cash, terrible business practice.
SCAM!! I signed up for Patreon when a creator from YT got a page.... I had a membership to them for about 2 months and then all of a sudden I had memberships to several more creators that I never signed up for. I believe I was either hacked or scammed by Patreon. When I reached out to let them know that I didn't sign up for anything new, they basically said it wasn't their problem and they don't issue refunds. To top it off, one of the creators they charged me for that I never signed up for had very inappropriate content! Stay clear of Patreon! It is a SCAM and will steal from you. Not secure and not anywhere I'd recommend.
